Today, I share with you my interpretation with the trumpet of "My Favorite Things", a song of the jazz genre composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II in 1959. The song is a classic of the American musical theater The Sound of Music. It's a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there are always things to be thankful for. The song is in the key of E major and has a moderate tempo. The melody is simple and engaging, and the lyrics are full of vivid imagery and description. Among the best known versions are those by Julie Andrews, John Coltrane, Rod Stewart and The Supremes. It has a traditional I-vi-IV-V tonal structure, which is repeated throughout the song with some minor variations that help create a sense of calm and serenity. Undoubtedly, one way to find happiness is to focus on the little things. The little things are what make life worth living. It can be simple things like spending time with loved ones, enjoying delicious food, or enjoying the beauty of nature.
If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that big things come from small things. One must build happiness out of it. Every block, every material is needed to build it. Many times, we want to fit a piece of the puzzle in the wrong place. In music every detail matters. A sum of details makes perfection. To cultivate happiness for the little things it is important to practice gratitude. I love counting my blessings, the good things I have received. Even if they are small and simple, if we look back and broaden our vision we will see a glorious piece of puzzle. One should not worry about the past or the future, focusing on the present and enjoying every moment helps us to be happy. There are things we have control over, and others we don't. Instead of worrying about things that we have no control over, we should worry about what we can. For example, we cannot control the weather, but we can enjoy even the raindrops.
My Favorite Things
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
