Good day friends, and happy Easter to everyone celebrating this wonderful season, it's my prayer that the death and resurrection won't be in vain upon our life's, that's aside, in participation with the hive learners community Creative Sunday prowess, I'll love to take your through how I made these palms slippers and I hope you'll Learn from it.
It's been awhile since I work on any shoemaking activity due to my new job tight schedule, but after I was opportune to make one for my friend few weeks ago, I decided to make another that would be place at my store show glass to attract prospective customers and below are how it's been made.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
- Leather
- Mako (insole)
- Nora (outsole)
- Buckle
- Sewing machine
- Oci gum
- Scissors
- Super glue
- Filing Machine
MAKING PROCESSES
- The first steps I engage on was the cutting of the various parts of the palms slippers and attaching them to a lining with oci gum, so it can be firm and last longer, below are some pictures of how that is done.
- Second steps here showing the sewing of the leather together with the lining, it also shows how I designed and attached a strap leather with buckle to the sewed upper of the palms slippers for beautification.
- Filing the edge of any part that'll be joined together is very important, because joining a smooth parts together simply mean such footwear won't last before it stay to lose off, so I fill each part to he joined make it rough an perfect for joining.
- The concluding steps are using a wooden shoe last to get the accurate shape, putting gum on the Nora and mako, then joining them together, the pictures below shows how all those were done.
Below is the palm slipper we've been working on since, I guess many of the passers by loves i, because on the same day I placed it on the show glass was when it was brought.
