✏️ ¡Hola amigos de Hive! Espero que estén muy bien. Hace poco les comenté que me tomé varios días de descanso por el tema de la espalda. Pero durante esos días hice dos dibujos; uno fue el de la Sirena que fue el post anterior y este que es sobre mi Portafolio.
Llevo varios meses haciendo dibujos digitales y después de tanto tiempo me di cuenta de que no tengo un portafolio. Hace bastante tiempo que quería hacer mi portafolio pero siempre lo retrasaba, ya que consideraba que no tenía el suficiente nivel como para hacer uno. Lo cual es falso porque tu nivel de dibujo no tiene nada que ver con tu portafolio, la idea del portafolio es mostrar tu trabajo, da igual si eres principiante o profesional, así que si tú eres de esas personas que quieres armar un portafolio pero siempre lo estás retrasando tengo que decirte no lo retrases más. No esperes a ser un experto para armar tu portafolio, lo bueno del portafolio es que puedes ir actualizando tus trabajos poco a poco y es muy divertido ver el proceso que has llevado desde el inicio.
Esta vez decidí hacer mi portafolio para la Plataforma de Behance. La verdad que no sé cómo funciona la plataforma, pero hace poco vi un video de una ilustradora profesional y ahí explico que Behance es una buena plataforma para mostrar portafolios.
Así que hoy les mostraré cómo hice la primera Ilustración para mi portafolio.
- ✏️ Hello friends of Hive! I hope you are doing well. A little while ago I told you that I took several days off because of my back. But during those days I did two drawings; one was the Mermaid which was the previous post and this one which is about my Portfolio.
- I have been doing digital drawings for several months and after so long I realized that I don't have a portfolio. I have wanted to make my portfolio for a long time but I always delayed it, because I considered that I didn't have enough level to make one. Which is false because your level of drawing has nothing to do with your portfolio, the idea of the portfolio is to show your work, no matter if you are a beginner or a professional, so if you are one of those people who want to make a portfolio but you are always delaying it I have to tell you don't delay it anymore. Don't wait to be an expert to build your portfolio, the good thing about a portfolio is that you can update your work little by little and it's really fun to see the process you've been through from the beginning.
- This time I decided to make my portfolio for the Behance Platform. The truth is that I don't know how the platform works, but I recently saw a video of a professional illustrator and there she explained that Behance is a good platform to show portfolios.
- So today I will show you how I made the first illustration for my portfolio.
PROCESO | PROCESS
La idea de este dibujo es una niña y su mascota saliendo de aventuras en un bosque lleno de misterios, con una hermosa naturaleza, columnas destruidas y una pared de piedra que separa al bosque de una civilización desconocida.
Lo primero que hago siempre al realizar una ilustración es hacer un boceto, normalmente me suelo quedar con el primero que hago, pero en este caso creo que hice como 3 bocetos antes de decidirme por este.
Los bocetos anteriores eran buenos, pero no me convencían al 100%. Al terminar el segundo boceto decidí irme a dormir (ya era muy tarde) y cuando estaba a punto de dormirme se me viene a la mente una pequeña imagen, así que me levanté rápido de la cama, agarré lápiz y papel y comencé a bocetar lo que se me había venido a la mente.
Es muy gracioso porque pase todo el día haciendo bocetos y de repente cuando me iba a dormir se me viene esta gran idea. He notado que esto me pasa mucho, pero siempre me da pereza levantarme a dibujar la idea que tuve. Así que siempre perdía buenas ideas porque no las dibujaba al momento y siempre se me olvidaba.
Así que, después de batallar con el boceto y una vez que lo tenía listo, comencé a hacer el estudio de color. Elegí tonos verdes y marrones porque quería una escena llena de naturaleza, también añadí algunas flores en rojo para variar un poco.
- The idea of this drawing is a girl and her pet going on an adventure in a forest full of mysteries, with a beautiful nature, destroyed columns and a stone wall that separates the forest from an unknown civilization.
- The first thing I always do when making an illustration is to make a sketch, usually I usually keep the first one I make, but in this case I think I made about 3 sketches before deciding on this one.
- The previous sketches were good, but they didn't convince me 100%. When I finished the second sketch I decided to go to sleep (it was already very late) and when I was about to fall asleep a little image came to my mind, so I quickly got out of bed, grabbed pencil and paper and started sketching what had come to my mind.
- It's so funny because I spent all day sketching and then suddenly when I was going to sleep this great idea comes to me. I've noticed that this happens to me a lot, but I'm always lazy to get up and sketch the idea I had. So I would always lose good ideas because I didn't draw them on the spot and I would always forget.
- So, after struggling with the sketch and once I had it ready, I started to do the color study. I chose green and brown tones because I wanted a scene full of nature, I also added some flowers in red to vary a little.
Llegó la hora de colorear. Para ello comencé por la parte de la gran pared de piedra, normalmente no me gusta hacer ese tipo de paredes, ya que me cuesta mucho trabajo colorearlas, pero si no lo hago jamás voy a aprender y después de todo el resultado me encantó jaja.
También coloreé los dos troncos que cubren la entrada y añadí pequeños detalles de vegetación, como lianas y algunas flores en los troncos.
Una vez que hice ese lado del dibujo, procedí a colorear los elementos que están en la parte derecha. Me tomé mi tiempo para colorear cada arbusto, cada piedra, cada columna, que al final el resultado fue excelente.
Para este dibujo combiné dos pinceles, el normal que siempre uso y uno de textura. Lo pueden notar en los arbustos, la verdad son muchos detalles que me cuesta explicarlos todos, así que solo diré que fui garabateando y dejando que mi mano haga su trabajo JAJAJA.
- It was time to color. For this I started with the part of the big stone wall, normally I don't like to do that kind of walls, because it is very hard for me to color them, but if I don't do it I will never learn and after all I loved the result haha.
- I also colored the two trunks that cover the entrance and added small details of vegetation, like vines and some flowers on the trunks.
- Once I did that side of the drawing, I proceeded to color the elements that are on the right side. I took my time to color each bush, each stone, each column, which in the end the result was excellent.
- For this drawing I combined two brushes, the normal one that I always use and a texture brush. You can notice it in the bushes, the truth is that there are so many details that it's hard for me to explain them all, so I'll just say that I was doodling and letting my hand do its job HAHAHAHA.
Una vez terminado el lado derecho procedí a colorear el lado izquierdo, la verdad fue más de lo mismo, colorear sin parar hasta que el resultado me agradará.
Las dos cosas que más me gustaron de este lado fueron las escaleras de piedra y la columna de piedra. Honestamente, estoy orgulloso de como me quedaron las escaleras, no esperaba que me quedaran tan bien, así que fue muy grato ver un resultado muy bonito.
Después de haber terminado toda la parte superior llegó la hora de colorear la parte inferior. Para ello comencé coloreando el gran tronco que está en el suelo y el arbusto que está a la derecha. Una vez más, aquí fue más de lo mismo, colorear poco a poco hasta que me agradara el resultado.
Cuando hagan un dibujo tómense su tiempo, los pequeños detalles hacen la diferencia y un trabajo hecho apurado no es un trabajo de calidad.
- Once I finished the right side I proceeded to color the left side, the truth was more of the same, coloring without stopping until the result pleased me.
- The two things I liked the most on this side were the stone stairs and the stone column. Honestly, I'm proud of how the stairs turned out, I didn't expect them to look so good, so it was very pleasing to see a very nice result.
- After finishing all the upper part it was time to color the lower part. To do this I started by coloring the big trunk on the ground and the bush on the right. Again, here it was more of the same, coloring little by little until I liked the result.
- When you make a drawing take your time, the small details make the difference and a job done in a hurry is not a quality job.
Llegó la hora de colorear el césped. Lo primero que hice fue agrandar un poco el tamaño de mi pincel y fui realizando pequeños manchones jugando con los tonos de verde, esto lo hice para delimitar las zonas que iba a colorear. También decidí aclarar un poco la parte inferior del césped, ya que quería que fuera como un camino. Una vez que tenía todo listo, añadí algunas flores rojas y le di detalles al césped.
Luego procedí a colorear el tronco con la lámpara y a los fantasmitas.
Ya para finalizar coloreé a los personajes; primero empecé por el hombre nuez que está al fondo, luego coloreé a la perrita (que es mi perra en la vida real, es la primera vez que la agrego en un dibujo) y ya para finalizar coloreé a la niña. La hice con un cabello largo superalborotado, con un sombrero de nuez y una ropa de campo.
Disfruté mucho colorearlos a los dos y creo que el resultado fue genial.
- It was time to color the lawn. The first thing I did was to enlarge a little the size of my brush and I made small spots playing with the shades of green, I did this to delimit the areas that I was going to color. I also decided to lighten a little the lower part of the lawn, since I wanted it to be like a path. Once I had everything ready, I added some red flowers and gave details to the lawn.
- Then I proceeded to color the trunk with the lamp and the little ghosts.
- Finally I colored the characters; first I started with the nut man in the background, then I colored the little dog (which is my dog in real life, it's the first time I add her in a drawing) and finally I colored the girl. I made her with long hair, a nut hat and country clothes.
- I really enjoyed coloring them both and I think the result was great.
¡Y listo! Así concluye el dibujo de hoy, espero que les haya gustado tanto como a mí.
Terminar este dibujo me llevó más de 30 horas, fue mucho trabajo, pero valió la pena.
Poco a poco voy mejorando mis habilidades y cada día aprendo algo nuevo y hasta el momento considero que es mi mejor dibujo hasta ahora.
Creo que descansaré un poco de los dibujos muy elaborados, así que si tienes una idea para hacer un dibujo sencillo estaré feliz de leerla.

- It took me more than 30 hours to finish this drawing, it was a lot of work, but it was worth it.
- Little by little I'm improving my skills and every day I learn something new and so far I consider it my best drawing so far.
- I think I'll take a little rest from very elaborate drawings, so if you have an idea to make a simple drawing I'll be happy to read it.
