It is the beginning of May and @outlinez and I planted the first tomatoes of the season.

My husband prepared the beds for planting and made a special mixture for the tomatoes in which he put compost, stone flour, humus and ash. We put this mixture in the dug holes for the tomatoes.

This year I made a lot of seedlings and they are of different types of tomatoes. All seeds are of old tomato varieties. Some we got from neighbors and some we bought online from trusted sources. I made so many seedlings that when I had to transfer them to larger containers it was almost impossible to manage, so I gave many of them away to friends and neighbors.

At the beginning of May we have an abundance of green salads, radishes and green onions.

At this time we also planted broccoli. So far I have tried to make seedlings, but without any success, but this year I succeeded and I am very happy.

We planted the broccoli in the beds where there was spinach before, and I planted tagetis between the plants.

This year we also planted okra, but this time we bought slightly different seeds of the Burgundy variety.

Last year I planted fennel seeds and nothing came up - but this year they grow and we now have fennel. Unlike dill, Parsley seeds did not sprout and we don't have any Parsley. Although it is late, I have planted seeds in pots and if it grows, I will move it to the garden. I don't plant it outside at this time because there are a lot of ants and the seeds will be taken by them.

Very soon we will also harvest the first zucchinis - we planted them under nylon back in March and we still cover them in the evening because the temperatures drop a lot at night.

Cucumbers also grow very well.

Potatoes grow taller as plants. We can't wait to try them soon.
