Every day I have to make lunch for my children, because the school canteen doesn't provide lunch, the school canteen only provides various snacks. My children are not used to buying snacks anywhere, they prefer to bring provisions from home. That's why every day I have to create various menus, so that the children don't get bored. Today I made a lunch of white rice, sweet spicy chili sauce tempeh and sweet potatoes. I also brought some bananas into the children's lunch boxes.
Children are in their growth period, therefore they need food intake that can meet their daily nutritional needs. I usually provide food supplies consisting of carbohydrates, protein, minerals and vitamins. Today, to meet the children's carbohydrate needs, I cooked white rice, while for their protein needs I provided tempeh and sweet potato chili sauce, and bananas to meet their vitamin and mineral needs.
The ingredients
I will show Vegan Lovers the process of making lunch boxes in the form of tempeh and sweet potato chili sauce. The ingredients I use are :
1 tempeh
2 sweet potatoes
1 tomato (large)
10 red chilies
5 cloves garlic
5 cloves shallots
1/ tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon tamarind (remove the seeds)
200 mL water
300 mL cooking oil
Preparation
1.Cut the tempeh into several pieces, I cut the tempeh into cubes.
2.Peel the sweet potato skin.
3.Cut the sweet potatoes according to taste, not too thin, so they don't fall apart when frying. I cut some into cubes and some into long shapes.
4.Wash the sweet potato pieces thoroughly, so that the sap is removed, drain the water.
5.Peel the onion and garlic skin.
6.Remove the red chili stalks.
7.Wash the shallots, garlic, red chilies and tomatoes.
8.Put the shallots, garlic, red chilies and tomatoes into a blender.
9.Add water.
10.Puree the shallots, garlic, red chilies and tomatoes. I used a blender to puree all the spices.
How to cook
1.Heat the cooking oil.
2.fry the tempeh until golden yellow, after that remove and drain the oil.
3.Fry the sweet potatoes until dry.
4.Heat about 50 mL of cooking oil.
5.Saute ground spices.
6.Add salt and tamarind.
7.Cook until the spices boil.
8.After the marinade boils, insert the fried tempe pieces, cook until the water content is reduced, stir until evenly mixed.
9.After the water content has reduced, turn off the stove, then add the fried sweet potato pieces.
The result
Fried tempe and sweet potato chili sauce is ready to be enjoyed, it tastes spicy, sweet and fresh because it contains tamarind.
I will prepare lunch for my child, but before that I will take some ripe bananas in the garden, yesterday afternoon I saw some ripe bananas on the tree. My child likes bananas, especially bananas that have been ripe on the tree (naturally ripe), they taste very sweet and fresh.
This is my son's lunch today, simple but meets all his nutritional needs.
Friends, you can try this recipe with a few changes, such as adding sweet soy sauce for children who don't like spicy flavors.
Thank you for reading my post,
