Day 26 - Paint Supplies

30 pictures - 30 stories divider set - Introduction.png

I got inspired by the "30 day not-so ordinary ordinary items challenge" but as I love giving things a personal twist, I decided to change the format a bit for myself so it suits me better. I've adjusted it to the 30 pictures - 30 stories challenge. But some days you will see that I also use not-so ordinary ordinary objects.

Feel free to join the challenge at any time if you like.

Publish one picture a day during 30 days and write a story about that picture. This can be anything, any object in the home, a person, scenery or a pet. I'm going to share a diversity of pictures and challenge myself to step outside of the box.

With the picture I shared two days ago, showing all the paint we have at home, there also needs to be this picture of the paint supplies. I didn't include the easel as I already used it in yesterday's picture to show all the paint, but here are the other things I use when I paint.

Of course a palette can't be left out, this one is very convenient and came with the easel I bought from Lidl. I was happily surprised to find out that not all these plastic pallets are hard to clean. Apparently those that I always had at home just fell under the category shit quality (read: cheap lol) and now Lidl included a decent one in the package which means cleaning up after a paint session is not that hard anymore.

In the round box you see some old brushes as well as dotting tools and a plastic and metal knife to mix the paint well. I love using the plastic one that also came with the easel more than the metal one to be honest, it mixes the paint better.

The only thing coming with the Lidl set that was not better than other items, were these long brushes still in the plastic. I decided to buy the brushes for acrylic paint as well as oil paint (for later purposes) that Lidl had on offer and as they are so convenient, I never opened the longer brushes yet. I probably end up giving them to my daughter to paint as she is not that picky yet.

I don't have any oil paint at home yet so I haven't tried the oil brushes in the back (the red ones) yet, which is fine, I will just keep them for later when I decide to try that in the future. Regarding all the types of brushes in the set, I have to be honest that I never really looked up which ones are best to use for certain types of paintings, I just try things and sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. One day, when I have some extra time to spend on this, I will dig into some tutorials and then I will probably be very pleased with all the paint and paint supplies I already collected as I have plenty of options to start painting.

What's your absolute favorite item from your paint supplies?
