Today was again, one of those fuss-free cooking days. I actually wanted to try a more elaborate recipe, but when I was ready to start with the preparations, I was hungry already (yeah, I've got to do something about time management). Be warned: this is not for the faint of heart.
Also, this is not an everyday type of recipe, because of the few nutrients and probably high salt/sodium content. "What's that?" you may ask, that's instant noodles with a twist of egg and shrimp balls.
The packet of shrimp balls was in my fridge for some time and wanted to use it in a meal every time my eyes fell on it, but I either planned something different or it didn't fit with the rest of the ingredients. Knowing the packets of instant noodles I had were shrimp flavored, the shrimp balls would be a good fit and I immediately imagined an egg would go well with it and how to best prepare those noodles.
First, the noodles were soaked in hot water for a few minutes and waited until those were al dente. Then, the noodles were sieved, while I cracked one egg open and scrambled it with a pinch of salt.
Afterwards, my pan got heated up with only a few drops of cooking oil and in went the noodles, followed by the scrambled egg and the sachets of flavors. Then I tossed the noodles in the pan to distribute the flavors evenly.
Not long after did the shrimp balls join the myriad of flavors and were also tossed into the mixture. Then, I put the lid on the pan and let it all cook through on medium heat.
