Hello hive, it’s indeed a beautiful day and I’m happy to stop by again.
On today’s episode of I love what I do❤️
A special clients of mine needed to sew an outfit to attend a Saturday event and because corset has been in vogue lately I decided to sew her one.
She had no special style in mind and since she could trust me with sewing quality and fitting outfits for here she brought the African print fabric which we call Ankara in our local language here
Not wanting this to be all styled in the print fabric ,I bought the half yard of original velvet material to use for the corset section of the dress .
I made this dress using the following materials
Two yards of Ankara fabric
Half yards of velvet
Pearls
A pair bra cup
Zipper
interfacing and lining fabric
Most times I do draft pattern of the designs before cutting the fabric and but I haven’t taken pictures of the pattern for this dress.
Interfacing and lining were used to sew the corset while I decided to add a touch of pearls for embellishments.
Sewing
It took up to me 3 hours to put all this together!
Up to my mannequin ...
Following the corset seam lines I used hand needle and thread to tack the pearls as the interfacing made it too thick for me to use the easier pearl setting machine for the embellishing .
Now it’s time to pearl💃
Leggo!!!
And there we go!
Thank you for your time ..
I’ll appreciate your comments
