We spoke on Friday evening and on Saturday morning the fabric arrived and yet I haven't gotten a good design. I kept drawing and tearing off my drawing book.
Well, I concluded on making butterfly hair band for her.
Materials used
- Fabric
- Office pin
- Tape rule
- Elastic rope
- Needle
- set square
- Matching Thread
- Pencil
- Decorating stones
- Chalk
- Two iron pins
- Safety pin
- scissors
- Compass
- sewing machine.
All set, I followed secret procedure.
I Spread out the fabric on a large table.
I folded it into two.
I picked my compass and pencil , using my convinent radius, I drew out my circle and cut.
I measured out length of my rectangle using length of radius and my width by dividing the length by two then I cut it out.
Now for the band it depends on how full you want it to be for mine using my tape rule to measure, my length was 56 and width 4.
Once all measurements were complete, I sew the fabric taking the good part inside and the other part outside. I did not sew edges for the band.
I used my scissors to cut out a little pieces at the center of the rectangle and circle, then turn it in out.
I Ironed all shapes and edges out.
I arranged the decorating stone to the front of both the rectangle and circle.
I turned the back of the rectangle and circle. I drew a diameter and diagonal respectively.
I used my needle and thread to align, passing the needle and thread through the diagonal and diameter.
I inserted iron pins at the edge of the diagonals.
I pulled the needle and thread making the diagonal and diameter come tight together. My butterfly was ready.
To the band I cut a befitting elastic rope and insert it to the safety pin, I passed through the band and sew the edges of the band together.
Now I sew the butterfly to the sown band edges.
The butterfly hair band was now completed.
I knew Hannah would love it. It will bring out her uniqueness and make her stand out.
Hannah wanted something unusual and this was it.
