Last Sunday my church decided to plaster a side of the church with the fund they would raise as touching their project work, so instead of spending all of the money raised. As a Building Contractor I volunteer to call some of my colleagues to give a helping hand to get the plastering done at a token.
All the materials needed like Plastering Sand, Cement and Water has been supplied over the weekend, so today we droved to church to get it done with.
We went with tools like
Shovels
Sieve
Ranging Pole
Hand-trowel
Shocking-Wood
Pieces of Foam
Buckets
Table
Drum
Drawer (to fetch water from well)
We started off by Mixing Cement with the plastering sand, we use of the sieve the mixture, this is in other to get ride of dirt, stones and pebbles, this will give a soft and smoothen sand.
Then add water to the output gotten after sieving, to make it into a paste ready for use.
We sprinkle water on the wall that is to be plastered, this is to make it easy for the plaster sand sticks easily to the wall, then the plastering commences.
We started pasting the mixture on the wall with the aid of an hand-trowel, spreading it about the wall and getting it evenly spread with the use of the iron Ranging-pole.
When we were done it the above, next inline was to shine the surface, to do this first we get a bucket filled with water and piece of foam. Dip the foam in water and sprinkles on the plastered wall, the rub the wall with a rubbing-wood and smoothen its surfaces with the use of the hand-trowel.
Next we let the surface dry for few minutes before brushing a final beautifying outlook.
The church youth mob and scrub the floor of the church clean of any cement stain when we were done, we had a serving of beans with gari, the church gave us a token as a sign of appreciation for helping out.
Thanks for coming by, do have a sound night rest.
