I never really thought of myself as a writer. I have this blog on this wonderful platform that's been where I perform all my writing. There's been lots of ups and downs, meaning that there were times when I wrote a blog post every day for a month straight, and times where a week, sometimes two will go by before I post anything at all.
Most of my posts aren't very long, but they're too long for Twitter or Threads, and most of them come with multiple pictures. They're easy to read, and in my opinion flow nicely. I do take my time writing them, plugging in some links when needed, and I go through each one of them to edit and fix any mistakes I catch.
Writing on hive has helped me deal with a lot of things in life. I can say whatever I want, things I need to get off my chest, things I'm excited about, thing's I want to share after having just learned something new, art, life... you name it, there's so much that it made me think about compiling some of this stuff, and sending it through the printing press!
Hey who knows, one of my books might make it big. The idea was already in my head, it had been for a while actually, since I started to post our 8 month honeymoon here on HIVE (well back then it was on a slightly different blockchain called steem) back in December 2017!!! I was calling it A Travelers Honeymoon, and it wasn't for nothing... We went to India for four months, then jumped over to Europe to travel around in a converted camper van for another four months. If that's not a proper honeymoon, I don't know what is!!!
The second time I thought about writing a book was when this whole pandemic started. Very shortly after we were asked told to put on masks to save one another from passing on the virus and dying, there were face coverings of all sorts littering the world. It quickly became obvious that I should document all that filth to make some sort of coffee table book. I have hundreds of photos I have to go through, chose the best ones, and make that happen. I'm thinking Amazon's print-on-demand service for that, I could avoid having to find a publisher!!!
Come to think of it maybe I can do that with all the books... Why couldn't I be my own self publisher? We do live in a world of change, and self-made people are much more equipped with today's technology then in the past!
The third book I've thought about writing happened when I put together a compilation post of all my wild food experiments, about a month ago. I got a few good comments, but one really stood out, and that was by @buckaroobaby:
What an incredible book that would be @senorcoconut! With the amount of trash (for the mind and the stomach) on the shelves, libraries (and kitchens) could do well with more wholesome books.
That was such an inspiration... I keep thinking about it. Thank you very much for that comment @buckaroobaby, when I go through with this you will not be forgotten!!! You gave me the final push that I need to actually get started.
Let me think what you all think about this idea, I 'd love to hear your thoughts.
