When I bought the trailer for the car, I took a look at all the accessories they offered to complement it. Most of them were interesting and useful but I only purchased a soft cover to protect anything from rain while traveling. I thought of these pair of legs to keep the trailer balanced while loading and unloading but the price was too expensive and I thought I could manage a cheaper solution.
I have started loading as days go by to make sure I do not forget anything when I leave and pretty soon I have experimented with how it loses the balance if I am not careful in placing the load equally distributed which is not an easy task when setting everything there.
Looking for options I tested an old pair of car stands from my dad and they worked pretty well so I decided I would go to the store and purchase two of them to place on the opposite side of the jockey wheel
I went to a local store and could not find any so started looking around for solutions and ended up finding a fence post base I decided to purchase together with the post to just make a homemade solution with the circular saw.
In this photo you can see the post base I got from the store, I purchased two of them together with the wood post which you see after I had it already cut to the correct measure.
Here's a photo of both parts together
This is the final result with the leg at its position.
Of course, there is only one position, although I could play with the holes in the support and have two or even more If I drill new holes, the reality is that I only need one position to keep the trailer even. I can play with the jokey wheel elevation to make sure the trailer sits in the legs.
All in all, a €20 solution for both legs and an additional little practice with the circular saw with less than 20 minutes work.
