"Advances In Modern Residential Agricultural Engineering" or "I Kinda-sorta Made An Instant Greenhouse With Plastic Film And Staples."

So as the title suggests,

I created a workable greenhouse space in a very short amount of time.

I am a huge fan of easy.

This was fairly easy.

The hardest thing I needed to do was stand on a stool to reach high places to stick staples.
Let me show you what I did.

I bought this plastic on Amazon. I estimated I would need about 10'x15' of plastic to do the job. It arrived the next day. I started the day after that.

To be fair, most of the work of making a greenhouse was done, in that I had a pretty sturdy framework that was already there, in the form of this covered patio.

We've been keeping random stuff back there for a while. The space was being neglected. Like, we were trying to make some sort of plant situation happen, as you can see by the plants sitting there wondering WTF is going on with their poor, forgotten little plant lives.

lol.

This would be a rather nice little space for plants. So I will apply most of this plastic to cover those panels.

So I have this staple gun loaded with half inch staples. I start hanging the plastic, after which I will be sectioning off the plastic to fit the frames. I am putting the plastic on the inside so that it doesn't look weird on the outside.

THE SECTIONING OFF HAS BEGUN!

I cut the sections a bit bigger than the actual section space so that I can roll up the edges and use that to fill side cracks on the frame.

Ah, look how neat and clean it looks.

woot!

After getting the plastic all stapled up I can start moving in some stuff.

I need more supplies and tools to get this greenhouse going but I think I am off to a good start. Just in time too, as the weather is now starting to drop where I live.

So hey, if you have a back patio area directly off the back or side of your home and it's already got a sturdy covering, it can easily be done for under fifty dollars and in one afternoon of your precious time.
