Ahhh it's the 21st of June and it's the longest day, shortest night, and I feel as though I'm celebrating it properly this year being in a purist mood (so no drinking atm), unlike my plants with have need much drinking over the past month on account of the hot weather!
And things are going nicely, if I can overlook the fact that everything's feeling a bit out of control!
Tomatoes and strawberries...
The tomatoes are looking a little out of control, I need to stake them better...
There are few just coming through....
And there are strawberries underneath the foliage, I must say I don't remember any previous strawberries I've grown having such lush leaves, but I assume this is a good thing, I've had a pretty decent amount of fruit off just six plants already!
Chilles
These are finally coming along, the fruit that is, but its' a bit slow for my liking, one of my fave plants to grow, and eat!
Spring onions
These are just my backyard plants - and experiment - I had a few spares that I couldn't fit on the allotment, so I just put them in small pots, and judging by the stems they are looking pretty good.
Not quite time to harvest yet I think, but soon! I'll defo do these again next year, but in slightly deer pots!
Future thoughts...
I must say I am enjoying my backyard manageable easy garden more than the allotment this year, which just feels like hassle, not sure whether I'll keep the later on next year, I'm feeling more 'virtual world' ATM than real world, and the backyard has a lot more potential too!
