Hello friends! I'm on a roll doing the little repairs this week, because I fixed my shipping cart that had a loose wheel today! :)
This cart has two main wheels in the back so you can lean it like a dolly, but also has two little wheels in the front so you can wheel it flat when you need to. This is very convenient when you are in the store shopping, or are really tired and want to take a break from tilting it back. But one of the little front wheels came loose from where it's supposed to be, and kept sliding over to the other side, making the cart imbalanced.
This wire pin is supposed to hold it in place, but had become flattened so that the wheel could slide over it. When I tried bending it, it broke into three pieces, so I needed a new wire.
I decided to try using this link from a keychain hook I had in my supplies. It fit!
Then I bent it on both sides so it holds the wheel in place.
All done! Hooray! I have my shopping cart back! :)
I did have a different one as backup because when my aunt moved she gave me hers, and that one is bigger but doesn't have the front wheels. Its main wheels also have plastic spokes. I had one like that in the past, but one day coming off the bus with a heavy load of groceries and cat litter and such, those spokes broke when the cart landed on the sidewalk coming off the last step of the bus. It was like a foot drop, and the weight was just too much. So that's when I got this one, which in addition to the nice front wheels has metal spokes so it's more sturdy.
I am doing ALL THE THINGS, lol. I tend to be productive with such things in spurts. What else can I fix this week? Hmmmm...
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day! :)
