Hi, needleworkers! How’s it going with your projects? I’ve been working on small projects recently. This one is something I crocheted a while back, but didn’t complete the straps until about three weeks ago.
Remember that multi-coloured granny square beach set I posted some months ago, well, I had 4 squares that were left so I decided to make a fanny pack/ crossbody bag with them.
I used red, light pink, dark pink, yellow, white, and black to make the squares, with black serving the background, sort of.
Then, I assembled them. I placed two squares together, one at the front and the other at the back, and put the remaining two squares one on each side, but I folded them diagonally to connect both sides and give this shape.
After sewing, I proceeded to add the lining and zip I planned to. I’d bought a black zip and I had a large satin material that I was going to make use of.
While I sewed the squares together in one day, I left the lining and zip for another day.
After the lining and zip, what was left was the strap. I used single crochets for it. Unfortunately, my black yarn got finished about three-quarter way through. This made me lazy. I didn’t buy a ball of yarn to complete it till many weeks later. When I finally did, I only had a few rows to cr get before it was complete. Gosh, it looked so good!
Next time, I’ll use bag rings to attach the straps to give it a more fancy look.
It’s become my go-to bag for small errands like going to the market, but I plan to pair it with these cute black dungarees I have for a proper outing.
What do you think, guys? Is this something you would buy?
