We are past peak colors here in foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. I really cannot complain about the 84 rock and rollover degrees. For being nearly Halloween, I guess we will happily take it!
What a pleasant Sunday it was here in Virginia. My rescue hibiscus from the plant hospice clearance rack at Lowe's is doing its part to still show appreciation, even if it has a few yellow leaves here and there.
Wait, what!?! What do we have here. It is neither mum nor pumpkin, plus it cost me more than I should be spending!
The Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday tags are some of my faves! I want to thank @ace108 for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats and supporting the accounts. Also, a shout out to @c0ff33a for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
So it is high time I get over to the lake lot and start clearing it. Before I moved here permanently, I would only get to work on it for a few hours while doing the multi state DIY move with my truck and cargo trailer. Now that the mover is mainly behind us, it is time to start working on the lot for reals.
The first step is to chip up the tops of the trees that I have cut down. Anything much over 2 inches will be burned either for campfires or for the future fireplace. That means the piles of little branches left behind are going to work this little unit hard.
I know this is a very limited chipper. It is quite inexpensive at about $550 at Harbor Freight. I just hope it lasts till I can get a PTO driven chipper that I can run on my future Kubota. Yep I sure got a lot of work ahead of me. Good thing I enjoy the struggle. Now I best cut this post off here and get to putting this chipper together.
Hope y'all had a nice Sunday!
