DIY Replacing the kitchen tap

It's a days job.

But someone's got to do it.

Hopefully 1 hour tops

All it will take is some time and effort. Preparing everything up front. Dry testing it in my mind. Have to remember to turn of the main water tap. Then open the old kitchen one until no water comes out anymore. It all seems so logical, but I just know I do forget some steps along the way. And that would create some watery mess. Guess the worst part is to get into the closet under the kitchen sink. Tight space, working over my head. And I have had an experience with metal parts coming down, hitting my head. The whole neighborhood remembers that day.

Those close to me know, that when I have to do these kind of jobs, it is best to stay as far away from the scene of the deed as possible. And I have to announce upfront when I am planning to. Exact time and date please and I simply cannot allow myself the 'sorry, I forgot' excuse on these kind of DIY things. Anyway, to make it less of a burden and to have a happy ending to look forward to, I bought a LED version kitchen tap. Of course there were questions about the light thing. And then some conclusion on how men never really grow up. But when I replied that I really do not have to be the one replacing the damned thing, it all of a sudden did not matter. As long as I could guarantee it would not lead to some shocking results, it was okay that it would light up like a Christmas tree.

Sigh, anyway, here goes nothing. Fingers crossed...🤞

Have a great one!

Yes, I guess I'll never grow up, it has got LED lighting.

Hey i saw your post after many day's!!! Hope so everything is fine on your side

I never tried LED kitchen tap but yea i also replace my washroom basin tap because the old one was destroyed

Everything goes well, hope you are okay too.

The LED head I will probably replace for one that can move around 360°. But just for the fun of it, I'll keep it on for a while.

Sometimes these things indeed need to be replaced, the former one was close to bursting. 😄

Hahaha yes everything has it's expiry date even the we human too 😹

Yes, someday we will be beyond repair. 😄

Crikey, you are brave! It is a lovely looking tap right enough.

Love that led!!!

Well done, it's always been an area the terrifies me!

Thanks! It will never become a hobby of mine. And the nightmare is always about leakage, something bursting and then water everywhere.

Hopefully this is now settled for years to come! 😁

Have a good weekend!
