I could probably say that this piece is one of the turning points in my life as an artist. For the first time in a very long time, I am able to once more sketch purposefully. To finally feel the confidence, happiness and satisfaction in every line that I drew today.
So allow me to share how I conceptualized this piece- from drawing to sculpting, baking and finally, glazing.
I started by making the sketch.
This is the first step in every critter I create. I use lines to ensure that things are parallel to each other. Since I am using a pencil, its quite easy for me to draw, erase, redraw, make adjustments until I got what I want.
In this part, I just filled in the lines and used my coloured pencil to give further life to my pieces.
Making the sculpture:
I started with a pink clay. I did not use any reinforcements because I wanted my piece to be as organic as possible.
Here are the initial details. I did not use my tools to smoothen up the "fur" on this piece. I want you all to understand how the "raw" creation looks like.

The drawing and the sculpture. I might be doing this process for awhile..... I just feel so proud and free making this.
