awareness

My awareness of how much things cost is climbing and is going to drive me to not order anything else. I ordered new springs, U bolts, and hangers for my boat trailer. $170 plus a few dollars, I can't remember the exact amount.

A brake on my husband's truck was grinding every time he hit them. He went to the parts store and bought what he needed. $170 seems to be the magic number, that is what it cost him

We have not fished at all this week but I sold 300 dollars worth of areca palms, that 300 did not stay in our pockets for long. We might as well have thrown it into the wild.

The new hangers have two holes where the old one had one and of course, they would not match up. I wondered if I could make some sort of expensive wall art from it. My husband said all we need to do is drill a hole in it.

image.png
We do not have a sharp drill bit to drill through the hanger so we had to buy one which was another 20 dollars. I took it out of the package and it does not fit the drill, our drill is a 3/8 and the bit is for a 1/2inch drill. I go back to the hardware store and find out that they do not make a drill bit that big for a 3/8 drill. I feel like maybe I have eczema or something like it coming on, I am itching with anxiety when I get home and tell my husband this. The funny this is, we were at a thrift store yesterday and they had a 1/2 drill for 25 dollars and my husband told me that we would never use it.

image.png
He drilled a smaller hole in it and we found smaller bolts to fit. We bolted the hangers and put the leaf springs on it but it would not line up with the axle, the hole he drilled is maybe a 1/4 inch off.
I threw all of the tools into the wagon and pulled them into his shop. I am done for today. I think I will have the first cup of coffee in the evening, maybe with a shot of whiskey in it.

My husband smoked some mullet today, you can not eat more native food than smoked mullet. They are not as good this time of year as they are in the summer. In the summer they are full of fat and when you smoke them and the fat seeps through the meat, aw, it is unexplainably good.

Yes, they all fell into place. thank you.

Prices of things keep interesting by the day dear.
It is very shocking, you don't even budget things lately.
Because it will exceed your budget.

thank you @eii

Things are expensive, having increase in price daily.
I do wonder how we cope with all this things.

We need to stop buying what we don't really need and start taking money from the big shots by not buying. That was my thought but then I thought, they will just take it from the workers. I do not know where it will all end.

I really hope so.
I pray it goes well.

Amazing job, my friend! Vehicles seem to nickel and dime us. Hang on my friend.

thank you, We have never bought a new vehicle so have always had old ones, and when my husband starts having trouble with a truck he says it will be one thing after another and is ready to get a new to us one. Have you ever heard the definition of a boat?
BREAK-OUT-ANOTHER-THOUSAND.

Prices are rising everywhere, although at first I thought it would only affect our post-Soviet countries... Hold on!

thank you @heartbeatonhive

It is crazy how fast money is slipping through our fingers these days. Prices are going up so fast now, but not my wages.

This is the problem that I am having with paying the higher prices, the workers are not getting it, and the pockets of the big-wigs are getting fatter. You wrote about it slipping through our fingers, I just replied to @stdd telling him that my hands are slipping. I think we are on the same chain of thought.

Nicely done friend... combining all the prompts. I enjoyed reading through.

Thank you for reading, I am glad you enjoyed it and I was pleased with how all of the prompts fell into place.

Yes, really you did justice with the week's prompts in that writeup

I support the coffee with Whiskey :)

I have also seen in my reality in the publications of other people from various countries that the prices of everything are increasing, that fits with the World Bank publication that we are in a global inflationary process, or something like that was what I read recently.

By the way, that thing about repairs, it is stressful when you don't have the necessary tools and everything gets complicated. Hopefully they can solve the whole problem soon.

Thank you for reading, I also have read where prices are going up in other places. I have to ask these companies when is it enough. The sad thing is, the money they are making is not going to the workers, it is getting eaten up in administration, too many fat pockets. We bought the right tools today and my husband got injured by one when it broke. I do not drink but it was about to drive me to drink.

Whoops!

In my land, a tropical American country, we usually say when many accidents or unfortunate events happen, that one is 'salty', and from what you tell me, I think that hurting yourself with one of the tools, after all that they have past, yes that is being well salty.

Anyway, I'm not a big drinker either, one of those who can down several bottles before getting drunk, but in these cases I could well have a drink to sit down and try to think about how to make the situation better and how do to prevent further incidents.

He is a commercial fisherman so he is salty in more than one way. Here being salty means having a bad reaction to what someone said to you.

Thanks for sharing the meaning of the word, it is interesting how what is meant by a term means different things depending on the country where it is said :)
