Homemade salve that I prepare at home from calendula and cocoa butter. It is extremely useful against scars, cracked heels and elbows, itching, burns and other skin problems.
The cream is prepared with marigold flowers and animal fat. I do not like animal fat, so I replace it with vegetable oil - in this case I use cocoa butter.
Cocoa butter has excellent moisturizing properties and restores the skin from the inside.
It is a rich source of antioxidants, and saturated fats work well on dry and cracked skin (easily penetrate and stay in the skin for hours). Cocoa butter does not cause irritation, which makes it a perfect choice for sensitive skin.
Marigold, in addition to being a beautiful garden plant, has a number of healing properties. Marigold flowers have antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. They soothe the skin, relieve various unpleasant skin conditions and heal wounds.
For the recipe I used:
- 2 handfuls of fresh marigold flowers;
- and 250 g of Cocoa butter.
Marigold flowers are washed and dried and cut into small pieces. Place in a bowl together with the cocoa butter in a water bath melt.
Stir on the stove for about 5 minutes.
Then remove from the heat, cover and leave to stand for 24 hours.
Melt again in a water bath and strain through double gauze.
Pour into pre-prepared clean and dry boxes and jars.
The cream has a wonderful color and aroma.
