Sea, Sea Urchins and Family

You will not be hungry if the sea and forest is near to where you live. You don't need to be good at something as you learned how to find food to eat. Also, the sea will not let you bored just by watching it or simply soaking in it. How much more when you have companions, especially family. As of today, that's how I experienced the morning of Saturday.

The day is a little bit cloudy but it's okay as long as there is no rain to fall. It's preferable to go to the sea, search for food, and at the same time stay uncovered from any establishment or trees. You know the heat of the sun is a bit annoying if you're there swimming or spending time at the shore, you will love to stay longer. Having conversations while spending time together.

With the help of the small boat my two nephews went to get sea urchins. They are not the type who always go to the sea and get sea urchins. Maybe they were craving that specific sea urchin named "TUJOM." It's a black type of sea urchin with longer thorns that stings when you accidentally hit its edge. Don't underestimate the pain because, for a first-timer, it's a bit painful. It's not a poisonous one but the pain will last longer.

Obviously, this type of sea urchin will not be eaten by leaving its original form like that. It has long thorns and at the same time, it could be painful. That's why with the help of this DIY material for removing the thorns will be such a big help. Yes, that plastic screen colored green made it round. The sea urchin will be placed there and then shake it and shake because the thorns will be removed. A sack is good to use too but making one like this one is better.

The image above that my siblings have eaten is the one I was talking about. It will be like that when the thorns are being removed and ready to eat. This is not the most delicious of all sea urchins but I'm telling you its taste is different from any other. That's why some people specifically ordered this one because of it. Well, it's not easy to say it rather than to taste it.

Now this image above is what you'll see when you open its shell. The flesh that can be eaten is inside. You need to add vinegar if you want to have its delicious taste. I assure you that I'm not lying if you will just try and taste it.

I am happy that you enjoy your moment with your family. ☺️ It's a good vibe. ☺️
When I was a child I used to catch sea urchins, our viand for breakfast. It't expensive when being sold to different stores.

True, medyo mahirap kasi hanapin.

Aiko nga po lalo na ngayon. Pero sa panahon ko noon medyo marami rami pa. ☺️

OMG sea urchins is so expensive diba if ever you will buy it somewhere. While in your place, you can just look for them and enjoy it with the fam. Thats awesome. I'm actually curious about thr taste but I am not sure If I can eat that ng hilaw 🤔

Usually, d naman talaga niluluto ang sea urchins. hehehe, Pano ba ipapaliwanag to yong lasa, hirap eh basta hindi sya niluluto, raw sya kinakain.hehehe

Your description of the sea and forest experiences, and the sea urchin gathering process makes me feel like I was there with you.😊 The idea of using a green plastic screen to remove the thorns from the sea urchin is a helpful tip. Can't wait to try the sea urchin with vinegar. Thanks for sharing your Saturday morning adventure with us."

Oh, thank you. Yes, it's better with vinegar especially when it's spicy.

Thanks for the tip👍🏼

that specific sea urchin named "TUJOM."

It is my first time knowing "Tujom" 😊

The last time I tasted sea urchin was 8 years ago. It was super expensive! You guys are lucky to have this food and view. Amazing!
