Hello Hive.
After going through some of the needlework project posted on this community at the start of the new week I noticed that a number of us share the same challenges of which color to mix in making a perfect match for either garment construction or crotchet work.
Before making a sweater of yarn or wool you are worried about the outcome and wether the color will fit with a number of your dresses.
For most people who are not fashion inclined that is a problem even in the street you find people dressing in various different odd forms without even knowing it.
I also face similar challenge.
While making this dress today I listened to my friend speak about how she likes mixing her own colors in fashion.
She disliked bright colors like the way I have done with this dress but in her words " I prefer to mix similar color of fabrics the difference will be in the pattern."
This is to say that she likes same color of fabrics with different patterns on them. Let's say a yellow top and yellow skirt but with different manufacturers design.
This blue and white was just an experiment for me, remember the dress I posted sometimes last week, I had a quater yard of the fabric remaining and to make this whole piece, I thought to buy this plain white fabrics as well.
Here is how it went.
I thought of the different possible way I could mix this and this was the outcome.
Also had to add a bias strip on the dart line of the lower part just to give it a bluish resemblance with the upper part instead of remaining plain white.
The pattern is similar to the previous dress, an off shoulder with cut together sleeves.
I still have some measurements issues with the sleeves as they became longer than expected and didn't sit well.
Having to adjust a dress after closing it up gives me a headache, am learning to give it a perfect one time job.
"A right first time" Kinda of thing
Which am not too sure will exist in fashion.
This is my own idea of mixing different fabric color I will leave you to decide yours.
And for a conflict of choice which do you prefer most of the two dresses.
plain blue or the blue mixed with white, let's have your say.
