The temps climbed between 28-30°C today and although the forecast had been 33°C, I'm glad that it did not go up because it was very humid today. I had fun looking at the blackberry bush we have and it's now showing the first berries for the first time. This bush is just about ten months old but it is growing so vigorously.
The bees are now coming in our balcony and sipping the nectars not only the flowers of the blackberries but of the raspberries too. The bee's smelling organ must be so intense that they come up on our balcony and make rounds and rounds of happy sipping . As new buds are opening, I think we will have more and more bees to see in the coming days.
This lovely blackberry bloom is so beautiful in pink that it looks like a peony.... apologize for the blurry image, it was so windy today.
There are many wild blackberries growing along the roads. But these wild ones are loaded with thorns. Nowadays, there are cultivars that are thornless.
This variety is a lucky find and I really hope that there will be much berries to be harvested because I am planning to use them for the sweets I will be baking.*
That's it for now…. I´ll see you around!
