Hello LMAC Members and all Hivers. This year has been an interesting one for me in terms of my online presence. I've accomplished a lot for the time I spend here. As you know, I love creating fractals and other digital art, especially collages from various mixed media art images. One of the reasons I love to create the freestyle collages is that it gives me the opportunity to explore numerous themes that incorporate unusual images that I love to work with.
This Freestyle Collage No. 69 design will be the final one for 2023. For this theme, I chose the concept of "beings in the desert".
Away from the serene life enjoyed in the castle high above the hills, there dwells beings of the night that watch and wait. The inhabitants of the castle roam its halls oblivious to the dangers outside its window. Ever so often, they glimpse shadowy figures whose image flicker in the sunset.
Amaroth sits in his bedroom overlooking the buttress. He daydreams of adventures in the nearby barren land with his sword and shield. A hero's welcome he envisions as he, and his small bank of men sworn to protect him, captures the creatures and drags them back to kneel before his father. Only then will he be entitled to inherit his father's kingdom.
But Shimeria is no ordinary being. Many men before have attempted her capture. Unbeknown to them, she's also protected by her kind waiting to rush to her aid for she protects them from mankind.
To aid in my design, I utilized two landscape images; one of them from the LMAC database #LIL as part of the landscape for the castle portion of my story:
For the female entity, I located a haunting but beautiful image draped in black. Accompanying her outfit are two pure fractals that I absolutely love as mysterious and dark. They paired well.

To blend my scene, I uploaded all images to Canva, my design program. Notice all the features available to me with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership Subscription.
Below are my procedures:
To a blank, white canvas, I added the sci-fi image, placing it at the bottom of my frame; then duplicating it to fill the skyline.
Added the female image. I wanted the female to sit on top of the sci-fi ball near the tree to resemble the bottom of her body; so I removed the background and repositioned it.
Added the LMAC landscape image; removed the background and repositioned it in the top right hand corner of the canvas.
Added the alien sitting and birds.
Added the eye image; duplicated it, and placed them on the trees.
Added the bat; repositioned it, and completed project.
