Hello there fellow hivers, this day has been great to me again and I hope your day went well too. A lot has happened as always and I felt very tired but I got a glimpse of my lemon tree while sitting beside our house which made my tiredness to fade away like a bubble in the air. It's just so magical for me.
My lemon tree has been featured in one of my blog here before and I showed back then that it has already small fruits. For those who didn't read my blog before, here's some info about my lemon tree. This one has been given to me by my classmate before and it's already 2 years old. It didn't grew tall until now and it's been bearing fruits since last year. A lot of people has already benefited from it's fruits including me ofcourse.
Since there's a lot of going on here for the past months due to the flooding, I don't have time anymore to check my plants especially my lemon tree. So this morning before lunch I got a glimpse of it and finally had time to check what's the state of this plant.
So here it is.
Since it has fruits already the last time I check it, I was surprised when I checked it again this day. They are already big and juicy I guess but from the looks of it, they didn't yet mature enough because when I squeeze it, it was so hard. Very hard lol like a rock.
From the two lemon tree, I counted 7 fruits already and when I check at the back of it, there are still flowers that are about to bloom, maybe tomorrow or the next day. More fruits to come yeah. I'm very excited to see them to be honest. As you can see from the photo below, it has three flowers but for sure there's only one fruit that's gonna survive that will be the one to mature just like those fruits at the photo above.
While I was checking the fruits, something captured my attention that's why I didn't hesitate to capture it also with my phone. A baby snail climbing my lemon tree and for sure it will eat some leaves again. My plant is just lucky that it didn't have those larva yet or maybe they're just hiding under it's leaves. I didn't check it anymore.
Also check this one, aside from those baby snail, there's another type of snail also which I noticed in one of it's leaves. It was so small that I thought my camera won't capture it clearly but I was surprise that the outcome is not that bad at all.
After noticing those two snails, I also noticed some clear jelly within the stems of my lemon tree. I didn't know about this yet that's why I'm still searching the internet what are these things on my plant. Are they harmful or not like that. If someone know what these are then don't be shy to comment it. Highly appreciated.
While I'm talking about my lemon here, I want to tell you what I did to it. I performed one technique called Marcotting or air layering, this one allows you to have a clone of a plant directly from it's stem. The advantage of doing this one is that you're going to have a clone faster than from the seed. Plus when you successfuly marcotted it's stem and able to cloned it, the clone will not grow that very tall so with that one you can save a lot of space.
This was just an experiment of mine after I watched some farmers on youtube. I will show you the steps by steps in doing this one to a plant next time. I'm very happy with the result since when I checked it this day, it already developed roots as you can see at the photo below. A clap for me for successfully performing it.
Before I end this one I just want to show you my lemon plant also which I grown from it's seed. I recycled a plastic cup which I got from drinking some juice in town before. This is one of the way to recycle those plastic cups out there.
As you can see it's starting to grow more leaves that's why I need to transplant this one soon. I don't have the proper place yet to plant this one so see you next time when I plant this.
