Hello dear community. I hope you are feeling great and have a very good week. This is my first time posting in this community. Recently my family and I have been having problems with rodents roaming around our lot looking for something to eat. They used to be few, but over time they have been increasing their population and some have been coming in the trucks that the neighbor (Comerciante) uses to transport merchandise. So I set myself the task of making a trap for mice, which does not threaten their lives. I simply want to get them out of here, so let's get to it.

Hola querida comunidad.

For the elaboration of this mousetrap we are going to need:

  • 1 Plastic bottle.
  • 2 thick wires or sticks.
  • 2 rubber bands or rubber bands.
  • 1 Rope.
  • 1 piece of wire.
  • 1 Piece of wood or the lid of the same bottle.
  • Tweezers
  • Knife

  • Pinzas
  • Cuchillo

First we cut the bottle from the middle or a little ahead. Leaving an uncut part to act as a hinge so that the bottle opens and closes without separating them completely.

Then at each end of the cut line we are going to place a stick, rod or wire. This is to hold the rubber bands.

Then at each end of the cut line we are going to place a stick, rod or wire. This is to hold the rubber bands.

Optionally, we will place a stopper in the mouth or the bottle cap itself.

We will make a little hook with the piece of wire and tie the rope at the round end.

We will tie the other end of the rope to the mouth of the bottle and we will open a small hole in the back of the bottle and there we will place the hook we previously made. The rope will prevent the bottle from closing and the hook will be our insurance in which we will place the bait. It is important to emphasize that the size of the rope must be enough so that the bottle makes to close, but stays up.

The only thing left to do is to place the latch through the hole at the end of the bottle and place the bait.

¿Why don't we test our trap with a volunteer?
