Prom Dress

Anyone who has followed my efforts to create a CAD (Computer Assisted Drawing program) on Hive, will be aware of the challenges involved see it here (PS: the patterns that work are at the bottom of the list). However, the software is really, really nearly done. I really would love it if someone on Hive who knows a thing or two could review my code, it would help so much. Anyway, I’ve been so busy trying to build this thing(and a few other things. Haha) that I’ve hardly had time to Hive.

Today, I want to share two patterns I made using my CAD and see what yall think of them. Both designs are for young girls. The mermaid dress is for my domestic worker’s cousin, for her prom (she’s going to dress it up with jewellery and what not). The dress cost me almost nothing to make because I had left over fabric on hand. The girl is shy, and very, very thin an XS (bearly a woman) and she had a mermaid style in mind, but wanted something ultra simple that she could wear after the fact. I made a basic round neck, sleeveless dress (I hope you think it’s a good choice). And, anyway, I think it turned out fairly well. She looks rather pleased with herself in the photos, what do you think?

The second dress, pictured, (which hasn’t been hemmed yet) is for my nephew’s girlfriend. She’s extremely tall (so is he) and she wanted something elegant that would deflect her height. I decide to do a one shoulder affair, and give her a slit to show off her legs. What do you think?

Both dresses were super easy to make patterns for and ultra easy to make. My mother is on at me, because I want to make everything for free. It’s embarrassing, because she says I should charge for somethings, like patterns or dresses that I make. I don’t think she really understands, what do you think?

Anyway, see the process in pictures of my sewing efforts. Hope you enjoy my creations.

I couldn’t post all the pictures due to no electricity, Again. I’m running on electricity of my own build.
All the images, designs and patterns are my own, along with the pictures
