Once in a while we visit my wife's aunt to share some tea time and use her internet connection, which is still good. Last week we noticed that the door to the library room was a bit broken. We decided to mend it a little bit (even though I know nothing about carpentry).
So, we did it today. I had some pending editing work to do and worked on that first. Then, at about noon, my wife and I started working on the door.
This is how it looked.
The upper part
I removed the hinges and carryied outside the appartment.
I applied a soft sand-paper just to remove old glue and even the surface. Then, brushed off the dust.
Then, I applied glue. This glue is not very good and not having the right tools to fix the veneer in place, we had to use tape.
It did not look too firm at the end, but it definitely looked better than it was. We have to go again next weekend to reinforce it with some small nails. Hopefully, it won't be necessary (if the glue sticks well).
We had a good time sharing with Aunt Malvina. We had home-made pizza and I was able to finish a second editing work that had kept me bussy for two weeks. All in all, it was a very productive Sunday.
