Good evening everyone and thankyou for stopping by.
This week we made the 2 doors that I was going to use for our PPE cupboard.
We found out the hard way just how sticky PVA wood glue can be!
The stuff went everywhere and to top it off we dropped the tub 😭
But enough of the negatives, It's time for some great positives that the group managed to achieve with scrap pieces of wood.
This is kind of the finished product, using scrap MDF and fibreboard that I had lying around in the workshop.
These are the steps they took throughout the build. Luckily we had alright weather so we actually made them outside.
The glue ups took 24 hours but they have such a great hold that it is actually unreal.
Please excuse the mess folks, after we had finished the cutting and gluing we decided to start sorting the workshop out.
This was a terrible idea, we made an absolutely ridiculous mess and we ended up running out of time so I've been tidying it after work all week. It's still not tidy but we will get there one day.
Other bits
Currently I am trying to prep some hardwood blanks that we are hoping to stick together and make a couple of chopping boards out of them.
So far the stripping, sanding and prep work is taking a lot longer than I thought, so for now this is a slow going project.
But once they are ready, we will be showing them off to you all in their amazing style.
Also Christmas decorations are on the list. I have no idea where we are going to get all the time from, but onwards we go.
