This was what I was greeted by yesterday morning when I woke up, the rain had continued all night and was shoveling more at us for the morning.
We had .77" in the gauge at 7am with more falling.
I took the boys to school and on my way back to the house this ominous looking low dark cloud filled the sky to the south.
I watched it dump then headed to town for my chiro appointment which was glorious. I knew I wanted decompression and boy did it help. Then the time on the roller table then the adjustments all made my back much better. I am on every 2 weeks schedule now and hope this will be sufficient.
On the way home I stopped at North 40 for the parts for the gas line, some more rosemary plants, parts for the clothesline, and shelf brackets plus a few other things.
I went out to work on the gas line and a nice thunderstorm came through, this pic was taken as the thunder was still rumbling.
And this was the line of storms that went flying past us to the east. The Palouse got pounded way harder than us up north.
While it rained some more I worked on the gas line and got the hole drilled through the wall of my glass studio.
T'd the line into the gas line before the valve to the torches.
Then ran the line out the holes and then mounted the main shutoff valve fro the grill to the wall in easy reach.
Then I mounted the shelf on the wall and mounted the hooks to the face of the shelf so it hangs right over the left wing shelf on the grill so the tools can drip onto trays easily.
Both my low beams went out on our trip and luckily it is summer so the light is way later and I didn't need to drive in dark. I got the new lights at N40 and then got them installed. I'll pick up a spare set soon to keep in my truck so I won't have an issue again and can just swap them if they pop again.
It took me a minute to figure out the right mounting spot for the clothesline but I think I have it good. One pulley went under the end of the carport joist.
While the other is on the end support for the patio roof.
It spans across the yard but was more than 25ft so the 50ft length had to be spliced. I tied a square knot for the splice then taped it super well. It actually makes it through the pulley okay. I then used a clamp to couple the ends together but I found a bit of slack in the line later in the day that I may have to take up. All good though as the line works well in the pulleys.
The rosemary I picked up were super light weight in the pots so I knew they HAD to get potted up asap. I took them out and found they were both super root bound so they should explode in the new pots with super rich soil.
Finally later in the afternoon we got some bouts of sun shining through.
I peeked in and saw the bees had run out of syrup so I finished off what I had in the fridge which was only a quart so I will have to make another batch soon.
For dinner I got rice made in the instapot then we added cooked frozen veggies and some sliced Polish sausage and did fried rice the proper way, on a griddle. This is SO MUCH better than in a wok or in pans.
Got out to soak for a while and actually got some sun to end the day.
Today I am heading up to try and fly Chewelah in the morning before being back to get the boys from school early afternoon. I'm taking my mower but will likely have to leave it with Steve to be back in time. I'm going up early in hopes of being there BEFORE the winds get too strong later today. There is a chance of rain as well so it may end up dodging storms too.
