Spokane Ski Swap, Breakfast, UFC, PDC, Firewood, Tarps Tiedowns, Fire, Grilling, Kraken - Saturday

I made sure to get a big vitamin D scoop with the dollop of coconut oil before filling my jar with my tea. I hadn't been adding the oil which is vital for the D to be used in the system. I'm positive it made a big difference in how my body felt during the day.

The PDC is ongoing and Edhouse is doing really well, he won his quarter final match this morning as well.

With the packs I'm pulling apart I had one that wasn't fully charged so I use my power pack to charge 4 cells at a time. This one works great for cells that don't need to be cycled, just charged. By the evening I had all 90 cells fully charged.

We all headed to the fairgrounds for the Mt. Spokane ski swap which is huge. Over 30k items available and of all of that there was maybe 100 telemark items. I found the boots I need and they fit perfect. I also found the same bindings I got at the other swap only these have all the parts.

Long line but it move really fast since they had 18 registers setup.

We stopped at home and dropped stuff off while I looked to see if we had eggs, which I didn't find, so we headed to Deer Park to the 1st street bar and grill. As we pulled into the parking lot there was a massive number of classic cars lined up. It wasn't until we were eating and I was watching the streams of people that it dawned on us it was Pumpkin Lane. Deer Park has the biggest Halloween candy walk in the region. It starts at the south end of the town and goes for over a mile. We were lucky to have gotten there when we did. I estimate that over the 3 or 4 hours there was thousands upon thousands of people from all over the region, possibly over 50k.

We got home in time for me to watch the main fights of the UFC. Max's walkout he looked tired and unsure and he got beat easily in the 3rd.

My body was not hurting thanks to the cocktail of vitamins and meds so I was able to get the farm ready for the rain which is going on all week. I stacked the live fir tree rounds in front of the lodgepole rounds to cure.

And stacked the split wood then piled the dry fir rounds with the dry lodgepole to split for the house.

The plastic on the garden shed roof was just laying on it and required tiedowns. The best way I know how to is using a rock and twine.

IMG_20241026_153819.jpg

Wrap plastic around rock, clove hitch the twine around it tight, then tie off below on the building.

IMG_20241026_153851.jpg

Took a bit of shifting but it is nicely tightened down and the bit left uncovered is just the eaves and not going to leak inside.

The sheep pen needed some work too. The tarp I had stretched out for shade now is laid over the top of the barn to sheet the water off. It will make a much nicer place for them this winter. I have to put a new roof on it as the OSB is trashed.

@stryeyz took the boys to trunk or treat in town that the union guys put on then hit up Trader Joes before coming home. I got a bunch of branches hauled to the middle of the lower garden to get ready to burn.

IMG_20241026_171230.jpg

I got a fire going in the fire pit which now I am able to start getting through the mountain of cardboard and other burnables saved.

IMG_20241026_173337.jpg

I kept the fire fed into the evening.

IMG_20241026_182520.jpg

Then got our burgers grilled in time to watch the Kraken game.

IMG_20241026_185645.jpg

Which did not go well against the Canes. They got whooped pretty bad 4-1.

AGAIN! So close to the triple max. I'm beginning to find the feeling of the next dart following the prior. After the first throw the arm moves the same with the same release for each of the next two throws. It is taking a lot of practice to get that feeling.

IMG_20241026_194330.jpg

Got out to soak thanks to the prednisone bitch slapping the eczema. Didn't make the hour but some is better than none.

IMG_20241026_203510.jpg

Today it is raining but will be gone in a couple hours. PDC is on, Man Utd are playing and trying hard to lose to Westham, I will break apart more packs, I want to build an extension on the patio roof out over the concrete walk so the splash doesn't get on the patio so much, my spot welder will be here so this next week I will be making my battery packs, and I need to move plants down to the studio so they aren't in the way in the house.
