Before dawn I was in town to pickup grain. I first stopped at the Steam Plant to drop empty barrels and the stacks were lit for the holidays.
I hucked the empties over the gate then drove across downtown to the other brewery.
There were 4 barrels out for me but I managed to make it 3. They all went to the bed of the truck as their uneven heights would have been awful to keep locked down on the trailer.
It was rather dead in town which was nice, it's a pain when there is constant traffic driving by while I load up.
The city had lost all the snow in the prior days of rain and was ready for the dumping we got last night.
I got home just in time to turn on the Man Utd match which was a shit show from the start. Bruno is the worst captain and the team is worthless without Casemiro and Fernandez out. Martial is an awful player and terrible attitude that poisons the team. Onana is a mediocre keeper who has a shit defense in front of him. This year is a total waste for them and they will be REALLY lucky to NOT get relegated. So much money for so little output.
After the abortion of a match I went out to empty the grain. I got 2 barrels and a bit of the 3rd to finish covering the upper rows in the main garden.
Then I backed up to the sheep fence and emptied the rest of the third barrel for them to munch on. They get a forlorn look when I don't give them at least some grain from each load.
During the morning I put on Gold Rush episodes then midday I put on Hackers for the boys to watch which I haven't seen in many years myself. Then in the afternoon I kept my eyes on the doppler to see when the snow was going to hit. Around 3pm I pulled out the box of Cat 5 cable and strung it out from the house to the studio. The wifi has been atrocious thanks to the metal siding so instead I will be running a hardline for her. It required twinning it to the power wire run. I used electrical tape to attach it to the sleeve to keep it from getting hurt during the snow blowing.
The cable runs through the garden shed with the power wire.
It runs through the sleeves under the walkways through the gates.
I pulled out enough to reach inside, cut it, then I had to use my pull tape to get it through the long sleeve up to the edge of the deck.
I have the line run and the 8 port switch ordered. The goal was to get the line run before the snow which I did. Terminating it won't be a problem now once I get the switch tomorrow.
Around 4pm I got the fire started as the snow was beginning to fall.
By 5:30pm it was falling harder but in tiny little flakes.
I grilled our burgers for dinner as the snow kept falling. We watched the new Doctor Who episode while we ate then went out to soak.
There was about an inch when I opened the cover and it was to be steady all night long.
There is 6 inches of snow this morning and the forecast says it will turn to rain around 8am. I hope not as I want to get the snow blowing done before the snow gets too heavy and wet. One of the lilac bushes has fallen over by the fire pit as the snow is really heavy. I know there will be other trees broken by this but won't know until the sun comes up in a couple hours. I have my work cut out for me today.
