I got the coop door fixed first thing yesterday morning. I used some 100lb test line to replace the wire that had broken off. I'm hoping this line doesn't get frayed too quickly.
The PDC Nordic Darts Masters finished up and I got to see all but the end of the last match which Price ended up winning.
@stryeyz made pancakes on the Blackstone which works amazing. Griddles really are an amazing cooking surface.
Around noon I ordered the brakes for my truck and then on my way to flying I stopped and picked them up. I have to work on changing them today.
I got to Inkler's and was the only one there. Everyone else was out at the other sites but no one had flown yet. I quickly got my stuff together and began the hike to the top.
It was pretty damned hot and I was super happy to have my light harness which weighs much less and is nowhere near as hot as my large harness.
This is the last bit of the trail to the top.
And this is the top launch area.
I got to the top and once again the winds were perfect. I setup my wing and was nearing launch when I saw Kevin pull into the parking area below. I launched in a nice little cycle and managed to get my longest flight at Inkler's yet! It was a super flight and a really nice landing.
More people showed up so after a while Kevin drove us all to the top. I setup pretty quickly and was ready and waiting for the wind to be good enough.
I was first off the hill and got a bit of lift to take me down the ridge. Alicia launched but hit sink right away and went straight to the lz. I managed to make a few trips down the ridge but ended up sinking out along the hillside and landed in the quarry on the road. Everyone else got launched and had short flights down.
Steve showed up and gave us all a ride back up to the top. I jumped into the back of the truck with the wings.
Steve hauled ass up the road.
We got out on top and the wind was DEAD! The clouds had moved in front of the sun and killed the energy for a bit. Kevin tried a foward launch but aborted it, so I was setup and I powered off a forward and got into the air right as the sun peaked out of the clouds. I was down the ridge and saw Kevin launch but he went mostly to sink and headed for the lz. I got a some good turns in over the ridge before sinking out and headed for the lz. Kevin and I were the only two to get off the top as the others were to afraid of the launch. Over the 3 flights I got over half an hour of airtime!!!!
We watched and waited for them to launch but they never did and ended up driving down.
People showed up as it got later for the bbq and I got to talk to a number of people. It was SUPER nice to talk to Kevin who is an instructor and find out how my technique is, (good by the way). I only know how everything feels from my POV and not from the outside view. It may feel right to me but it may be all wrong to someone outside me.
I headed for home where the fire had been built and I soon had burgers on to grill.
@stryeyz grilled the veggies while I cooked the meat.
We heard the crunch but didn't go out until Pulsepoint flashed the alert. I have NO IDEA how the hell this happened.
This was a ways off the intersection and pointed in such a weird way. No one was hurt as ereveryone was out walking around.
We got out to soak a lot later than normal but the topped off hot tub was really nice.
Today I have to change the rear brakes on my truck, we are going kayaking up at Loon Lake this morning before it gets too hot, it's to be about 83F. I have plenty to do around the farm as well that will keep me busy otherwise.
