Hello dear friends designers and artisans, I hope you are very well. Today I want to start my week of posts with a simple job I did while recovering from an injury to my right arm playing basketball, it's nothing big, I had a muscle strain that prevented me from moving my arm for two days but fortunately I can now move though still with difficulty. My contribution is about the creation of a bracelet that I learned to make many years ago, it is a bracelet made with colored threads on a plastic strip. I learned this technique from some hippies I met on a beach on my travels long ago. I made it with psychedelic colors and as writing write Pink Floyd, one of the most important bands in rock history, I hope you like it.
Hola queridos amigos diseñadores y artesanos, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Hoy quiero comenzar mi semana de publicaciones con un sencillo trabajo que hice mientras me recupero de una lesión en el brazo derecho jugando basket, no es nada grande, tuve una distensión múscular que me impidió mover el brazo por dos días pero hoy afortunadamente ya lo puedo mover aunque aun con dificultad. Mi aporte se trata de la creación de una pulsera que aprendí a hacerla hace muchos años, es una pulsera hecha con hilos de colores sobre una tira de plástico. Esta técnica la aprendi de unos hippies que conocí en una playa en mis viajes de hace mucho tiempo. La hice con colores psicodélicos y como escritura escribir Pink Floyd, una de las bandas más importantes de la historia del rock, espero que les guste.
In my old materials I found the threads I needed, a long time ago I used to travel all over the country only with what I earned from my sales of bracelets and necklaces, it was a very fun time in which there was no adventure to live. Looking for the materials, all the memories came to mind and I couldn't help but feel nostalgic. I used black thread, and psychedelic colors such as violet, navy blue, sky blue, green, yellow, orange and red, a total of 7 colors different to make the letters and black as the background. The plastic is a piece of tiura that is used to cover the chairs and I used a hook-type knitting needle to accommodate the letters.
En mis viejos materiales encontré los hilos que necesitaba, hace tiempo solía viajar por todas partes del país unicamente con lo que ganaba de mis ventas de pulseras y collares, fue una época muy divertida en la que no hubo aventura cual vivir. Buscando los materiales se me vinieron todos los recuerdos a la mente y no pude evitar sentir nostalgia.. Utilicé hilo negro, y los colores piscodélicos como ,violeta, azul marino, azul cielo, verde, amarillo, naranja y rojo, en total 7 colores diferentes para hacer las letras y como fondo el color negro. El plástico es un trozo de tiura que se usa para forrar las sillas y utilicé una aguja de tejer tipo gancho para ir acomodando las letras.

We take the plastic and the black thread in the part of the tip, we make some openings through which to tie the black thread and we hold all the colored threads in the plastic. The process is very simple, it consists of passing the thread through all the plastic in an enveloping way and to make the letters we take out the colored threads and pass the black thread underneath, for the thickness of the letters we use two turns of black thread for each one of the letters, here you can see for example how I am doing the letter "P".
El siguiente paso es escoger los hilos para las letras y hacerlos en forma degradada, como el arco iris. Tomamos el plastico y el hilo negro en la aprte de la punta hacemos unas aberturas por donde amarrar el hilo negro y sujetamos así todos los hilos de colores en el plástico. El proceso esmuy sencillo, consiste en pasar el hilo por todo el plástico de forma envolvente y para hacer las letras sacamos los hilos de colores y por debajo pasamos el hilo negro, para el grosor de las letras utilizamos dos vueltas de hilo negro para cada una de las letras, aqui se pued ever por ejemplo como voy haciendo la letra "P".
The same process remains the same for the other letters, we must measure all the letters based on 2 turns of black thread, in the same way we are going to separate the letters within the same word using also 2 turns with the black thread. We must be creative for the letters, at first it does not come out, but then we can see that the second time it is not difficult, we just have to have a good vision to capture the letters.
El mismo proceso sigue igual para las otras letras, debemos medir todas las letras con base a 2 vueltas de hilo negro, de igual forma vamos a separar las letras dentro de una misma palabra utilizando tambien 2 vueltas con el hilo negro. Debemos ser creativos para las letras, al principio no sale, pero luego podemos ver que en la segunda oportunidad no es dificil, solo debemos tener buena visión para plasmar las letras.
Then we make each of the letters, to separate both words I used 8 turns of black thread, they seemed to me a suitable size so that both letters would not be seen so close together and not so far apart. With the knitting needle we lift the threads to pass the black thread underneath, and we also use it to straighten the colored threads so that the letters do not look crooked.
Seguidamente hacemos cada una de las letras, para separar ambas palabras utilicé 8 vueltas de hilo negro, me pareción un tamaño pertinente para que ambas letras no se vieran tan juntas y tampoco tan separadas. Con la aguja de tejer vamos levantando los hilos para pasar el hilo negro por debajo, y tambien lo utilizamos para enderezar los hilos de colores y que las letras no se vayan viendo torcidas.
To finish, we finish off at the other end, tying the black thread at the end, and so that the colored threads are not loose, we can make some braids on both sides. As the black thread has fluff and the colored threads too, with a lighter we can burn them, we pass the flame little by little without getting too close, only the heat of the flame will do, so the bracelet will have a better finish.
Para terminar damos el remate en el otro extremo amarrando el hilo negro en la punta, y para que los hilos de colores no queden sueltos podemos hacer unas trenzas en ambas partes. Como el hilo negro tiene pelusas y los hilos de colores también, con un encendededor pordemos quemarlos, pasamos poco a poca la flama sin acercarnos mucho, unicamente el ccalor de la llama servirá, así la pulsera tendrá un mejor acabdo.
This is how the Pink Floyd bracelet has turned out, as you can see it is not difficult to do, and this same technique can be repeated in countless ways, for example you can make your favorite rock band, a bracelet with your name, it can also be with a special phrase or word, that of your favorite team. Así ha quedado la pulsera de Pink Floyd, como pueden notar no es dificil de hacer, y esta misma técnica puede repetirse de infinidad de formas, por ejemplo puedes hacer de tu banda de rock favorita, una pulsera con tu nombre, también puede ser con una frase o palabra especial, el de tu equipo favorito. Como pueden ver las opciones son muchas y resulta más atractivo si lo hacemos con colroes diferentes, al final la mano se mi sobrina fue la modelo jeje y le quedó muy bien.
