The work on this site have been on for a while now but have been in batches, The electrical wiring process have been on like i said, we were able to finish the pipe and cable laying, the building installation is a full conduit installation, we are done with pipe and cable laying, so in this batch we will be handling the earthling installation and termination of cable at the mains supply unit.

The Materials Used

  • The tool kit box

  • Earthing Rod

  • 4mm copper cable

  • industrial salt

  • charcoal

  • shovel

  • Trunk

  • Cutting saw

The tool kit box contain basically the necessary tools that were used in the earthing installation. Earthing installation in any building is one of the most important thing that will need to be in place for every other electrical garget and appliances to effectively work, and also to protect the life's and properties within the immediate environment. if earthing is not done in any building, the life's and properties are not and will not be save if anything happens. this building soon will be effectively used, so to that note, we have to finish the earth installation and as well terminate the cablings at the mains, for effective uses.

Ground excavation

I started by measuring out about 3-4Ft away from the building walls to avoid the accumulation of charges in case no continuity in the earthing system.
after measuring out i had to excavate about 1ft into the ground, so that in cases of erosion after installing the rod, the water will not watch away the earth surface, living bare the earthing conductor, if that happens that will be dangerous and should be put into consideration, so i had to do so because it is an erosion path already and some precaution measures needs to be put in place.

The ground was well excavated, then the 4ft rod was enforced into the ground with the help of a hammer to enable it enter the ground effectively, the cable pipe was also laid to the hole, from the wall, which was about 4ft off the building walls.
the copper cable was linked to the rod and was firmly fixed to the rod spinner and plier, after the termination is done, the the industrial salt was purred into the ground, so as to enhance continuity of the current flow down the ground, after which the charcoal is also added to the salt to help reduce moisture within the continuty path.

After terminating the cable, i had to carefully fill up the hole and as well level the ground with the shovel.

  • Trunk and cable laying

I was not in charge of laying the pipe, so when I came, I realize that there was no provisions made for running of the earth cable, so i had to bring in the trunk system to help the business fast. to avoid cracking of the walls again and also making it beautiful. The earth cable was run through the trunk down to the circuit breaker and then cover.

The main supply

The mains was already installed, but cable termination was not done, so we had to do that with the help of the cutter, plier and screw drives.
I needed to open the mains and then link the cables to each allocated fuse link in the mains, the breaker also is just beside the mains for easy access.
