You guys remember me telling you about my sister’s quilling projects right? She has now expanded on that and it’s so amazing I had to share it with you.
A couple of weeks back she texted me a photo of this beautiful decor piece you see in the cover photo. She told me she would be teaching a quilling class to teenage girls at her church and this was the sample piece she made to show them.
Selfishly, my first thoughts weren’t even about the class and how exciting it was for her but instead I wanted that fence 🥺. All I could imagine was that piece sitting there on my desk in my room making my space look more pretty.
I know, I know shame on me…but I really wanted it 🤭.
My first response was “Uhmmmm, I’m thinking I want that sample piece for my desk when you’re done.”
Oops 🫢. I couldn’t help myself.
After that comment I talked about how cool I thought it was that she is teaching a class. Not only has she improved on the skill but now she is sharing the knowledge. It truly is inspiring what she’s doing.
Right when I finished she told me the piece was mine. Yay!! 🤩
It’s called flowers on a fence and would take about an hour to make.
Here’s a few closeups of the quilled flowers…
So gorgeous right?!! I love the look of quilled flowers and how detailed they are. It’s such an elegant art which makes great gifts.
My sister shared some photos of her class with me and I was shocked how big the turnout was.
Here’s a photo of my sister jumping for joy showing how excited she was right before they started arriving…
😆 I love it!
You can see the tables were setup with the supplies they would need to complete the work.
The girls came prepared with their morning drinks, grabbed some snacks and began their crafting venture…
Here’s a photo of one in the making along with the final result…
I think it’s really great that these girls now have a new skill they can use to make crafts all Summer long. Activities like this definitely help to combat boredom and you get something nice out of it too.
My sister told me she had quite the help from the ladies at church and it was a really nice time that went smoothly.
Here’s a pic of another finished product and a glance at some of the supplies you use when quilling. I shared about some of these supplies in details when I took a shot at it for the first time…
Here’s a final collage with the remainder of projects from her class…
I just might have to invite myself to the next one. I’ll pose come as a helper but will leave with my own craft 😄. Sounds good to me 😍😜.
I hope you enjoyed all the quilling photos! The first four images are my own and the rest all belong to my sister which were taken with her cell.
I’m grateful for her being so giving and allowing me to keep such a beautiful art piece. I am also appreciative of her letting me share this occasion with you.
My other SIL just recently got married so we will be working on a quilling gift for her soon. I want it to be personalized with things I know she and her husband would love and cherish. I’ll be sure to post it when it’s all finished. 😉
