A pleasant winter project

in #hive-1143082 years ago

This post is being published two days short of me completing my first year on Hive.

I find great joy in interacting with some of the friendliest people on this planet and I would like to extend special thanks to:
@chrisaiki who brought me to Hive @sirenahippie @anttn @samstonehill @trucklife-family @oniemaniego @riverflows @atma.love @vincentnijman @monycatt @clareartista @traisto + @fotostef @hindavi for making this such a beautiful human experience.

and also participating in and supporting some awesome communities like #Electroculture #PlantPower #HiveGarden #Homesteading #UnityTowardFreedom just to name a few.

I am extremely grateful to have found this place !

and now for the post..

In a previous post I shared the house I am currently building in rather a photographic way. you can see this post here:
https://hive.blog/hive-114308/@bigorna1/building-my-house-on-the

It all starts with a few pieces of timber, cut to size, given shape and purpose..

Ana, a dear friend who lives on one of the most beautiful mountain side properties I have ever set foot in, asked me to help her put together a solid structure for a dry toilet and shower

the energy on her farm brought out the best of me

there are a few things I enjoy more then connecting timbers to form a solid structure

Ana made sure the timbers are literally solid. my back confirmed that !

pretty much ready for floor boards, roof and weather board walls

skill saw is a helpful companion to have in such a project

it is a little miracle every time things fall into place

positioning the sliding door to establish the position of the top rail

check out how smoothly she slides !

corner posts fitted to accommodate the weather boards

a corner top view looks like that

a first complicated floor board laid for Ana to be able to take it from here

first side board

taking shape on a somewhat foggy morning

4cm thick cork boards and a waterproof membrane to keep heat and water out

diagonal reenforcement adds structural strength

with corrugated iron roof in place, Ana gets to do the finishing

a faucet awaits his sink. plaster on the inside

and on the outside

a rear view shows the terrace the structure sits on and where a bin is going to be placed in which humanure will accumulate

Thank you very much for having named me in this post @bigorna1, I really appreciate it, for me it has been a pleasure to meet you and see the content that you share, every day is better, so in advance, I wish you Happy Anniversary in Hive! and I wish you to continue growing in the blockchain.

Regarding the construction of your house, it is something wonderful to see how you build everything stage by stage, it must be a super gratifying feeling to do so.

A big hug!

Impressive job! Looks great. Thanks for sharing :<)

That came together beautifully! It looks like a good, solid structure, too.

Building wooden shelters in an olive grove! Now that's something I can totally relate :)
Ana is lucky to have a skilful and giving friend like yourself!

Congratulations for your first year on hive, it was nice meeting you too!

Your orchard looks great @bigorna1! Hoping for more abundance in your green space 🌳🌍

Thank you. I see more and more of it with every day that passes and it is exponentially growing 🌱

Ouch, your back. I hope you get enough rest afterward. You did great with the construction and happy 1 year anniversary on Hive.

Really nice meeting you dear @bigorna1! So kind of you mentioning us with such beautiful words, made my day :)

The project is great! I think I saw a Kangoo at the back, am I right? Would love to see our Kangoo in a beautiful olive grove like this and a wooden construction as cool as this! You are really talented and have special skills when working with wood, which is pretty amazing!

A Kangoo indeed. currently in the garage ; ( haha.
but a very loved one. just like yours !

I can spot them a mile away, haha!

working class cars ; )

Excellent job. i made a smaller structure for just a humanure compost toilet about 3 years ago, with just old fabric to cover to walls for privacy and old clay tiles for the roof. If i recall correctly it took about 8 hours to make.

I love seeing your project here, and getting such a blessed mention in your co-creation journey, dear @bigorna1 !! It is a joy to be walking by your side in this magical community - and all power to you in your and Sam's electrokultur developments: it is SUCH an exciting time to be one who loves learning and bringing together all the things that make sense in the world! There are moments, often connecting with the beautiful folks of Hive, in which the future seems effortless - when I can fully believe in our collective capacity to grow-nourish-learn-flourish-expand together, and simply leave all the nonsense-drama-chaos behind!
I also have an ENORMOUS life-long passion for compost toilets! I've studied and implemented designs via permaculture, growing up in a wild island setting, and through Hundertwasser the visionary artist-shaman's ideas around man's 5 skins and the ecology of the home. My own path has been through the domestic alchemy and quiet adventure of living in Gift and living in the spontaneous, intuitive life-full immersion of the everymoment. I love bringing some practicalities into my visionary existence, too, and ADORE being inspired by projects like this you're making... So much to make and improve on!

Much love and all good things to you! I look forward to the day when there's a huge Hive summer camp nearby, which I can join you all in!

😍

Thank you @clareartista for these beautiful words. I share this perspective completely.
this for me is what makes Hive such a human place to be.
best regards.
