Hello, gamers! As a good Potterhead I had to bring this review sooner or later and I have taken my time to gather the necessary information about the game and its features.
¡Hola, gamers! Como buena Potterhead sí o sí tenía que tarde o temprano traer esta review, y es que me he tomado mi tiempo para recabar la información necesaria sobre el juego y las características que lo componen.
Right off the bat I think what makes this game work (especially as it's a sort of prequel to what we know of the universe) is the fact that we are literally the protagonist, we don't put ourselves in the protagonist's shoes, we are the protagonist literally with our name and our face (the characterisation part) that we'll talk about now:
De entrada creo que lo que hace que este juego funcione (más que todo tratándose de una especie de precuela de lo que conocemos del universo) es el hecho de que literalmente somos el protagonista, no nos ponemos en los zapatos del protagonista, somos el protagonista literalmente con nuestro nombre y nuestra cara y es esto (la parte de caracterización) de la que hablaremos ahora:
Some people complained that the characterisation section was not as varied, but I found it to be, although of course if the system had been more similar to that of the Sims, it would have been better and more accurate, and choosing the size of the nose, mouth and eyes by measuring them is more accurate than simply choosing an element similar to our own from the options.
Hay gente que se quejó de que la sección de caracterización no era tan variada, sin embargo, a mi si me lo pareció, aunque claro que si el sistema hubiese sido más parecido al de los Sims, hubiese sido mejor y más exacto, y es que elegir con un medido el tamaño de la nariz, boca y ojos es más acertado que simplemente escoger un elemento parecido al nuestro de entre las opciones.
The cinematography is simply gorgeous and the setting is amazingly immersive, there's no way you can't feel like you're in the Harry Potter universe. The world design is stunning, clearly being an open world game, the mapping had to be huge but I think (as a good Harry Potter fan and reader of the books I can say that the representation of Hogwarts as well as Hogsmeade and the surroundings are amazingly faithful (except maybe the grand staircase room where the stairs just appear and disappear and don't move around the room as specified in the books and seen in the movies).
La fotografía es sencillamente preciosa y la ambientación es asombrosamente inmersiva, no hay manera de que no te sientas en el universo de Harry Potter. El diseño del mundo es impresionante, claramente siendo un juego de mundo abierto, el mapeado tenía que ser enorme pero creo que (como buena fan de Harry Potter y lectora de los libros puedo decir que la representación de Hogwarts tanto como de Hogsmeade y los alrededores son asombrosamente fieles (excepto tal vez la sala de la gran escalera donde las escaleras solo aparecen y desaparecen y no se mueven por la estancia como lo especifican los libros y vimos en las películas)
What I don't like is that once again we can see forced inclusion in all its splendour, and yes, I'm talking about the character of Sirona (the shop assistant and owner of The Three Broomsticks) and all because of the insistence of wanting to please those offended by J.K.'s lawsuit regarding transgender women. I'm not against anyone and what they do with their lives and bodies is none of my business and doesn't interest me, it's fine for everyone to be happy, but things as they are, placing a transgender character in a game set in 1890 doesn't add up, and for those who say (it's a video game and nothing else) I don't like things done badly. The first time I saw her I thought the audio was bugged (and I wasn't the only one, it happened to several gamers) because in order for us to identify her as transgender they used a voice actor but it only lent itself to confusion, plus as I said, historically, there have always been people who belonged to the LGBTQ+ community but for these people in those times to live their sexuality openly, it wasn't like that, it wasn't common without being subjected to public scorn, so whether or not to sell it in this universe in this era as if it was something normal and common (for the time) is not historically correct and that breaks the ancient atmosphere when we interact with it.
Lo que no me gusta es que una vez más podemos apreciar la inclusión forzada en todo su esplendor, y sí, hablo del personaje de Sirona (la dependienta y dueña de Las Tres Escobas) y todo por querer congraciarse con los ofendidos por el pleito de J.K respecto a las mujeres transgénero. No estoy en contra de nadie y lo que hagan con su vida y cuerpo no es mi asunto y no me interesa, está bien que cada quien sea feliz, pero las cosas como son, colocar un personaje transgénero en un juego ambientado en 1890 argumentativa e históricamente no cuadra, y para los que dicen (es un videojuego y nada mas) no me gustan las cosas mal hechas. La primera vez que la vi pensé que el audio se había bugueado (y no fui la única, a varios gamers le pasó) porque para que la identificáramos como transgénero usaron a un actor de doblaje pero solo se prestó para confusión, además de que como dije, históricamente, toda la vida ha habido gente perteneciente a la comunidad LGBTQ+ pero que estas personas en esas épocas vivieran su sexualidad abiertamente, no era así, no era común sin someterse a escarnio público, entonces quiera que no, venderlo en este universo en esta época como si fuese algo normal y común (para la época) no es correcto históricamente y eso rompe la atmosfera antigua cuando interactuamos con ella.
I think that in audiovisual adaptations such as Xica Da Silva or Pride and Passion, the history of characters from the LGTBQ+ community is covered in a more realistic way in accordance with their times and that it also shows how difficult it was for these people when they had to repress who they really were (which seems more important to me because depending on the time they could even suffer torture or even death).
Creo que en adaptaciones audiovisuales como Xica Da Silva u Orgullo y Pasión se abarca mejor la historia de personajes de la comunidad LGTBQ+ de una forma más realista conforme a sus épocas y que además plantea lo difícil que lo tenían estas personas al tener que reprimir quienes eran realmente (cosa que me parece más importante ya que dependindo de la época podían incluso sufrir torturas o hasta la muerte)
The controls are super comfortable, and they're even better in combat. I love the fact that we can use potions or plants for combat and that the list of incantations, spells, hexes and curses are so extensive. I also like the classes a lot. Now while I think using flu dusts is a great idea for fast travel, I think it would have been better to put the travel points in stacks, since after all, flu dusts are only used in stacks.
Los controles son super cómodos, y son aun mejores en combate. Me encanta el hecho de que podamos utilizar pociones o plantas para el combate y que la lista de encantamientos, hechizos, embrujos y maldiciones sean tan extensos. Las clases también me gustan bastante. Ahora bien si me parece que utilizar los polvos flu es una idea genial para los viajes rápidos, creo que hubiese sido más acertado poner los puntos de viaje en chimeneas ya que después de todo, los polvos flu se usan solamente en chimeneas.
The side missions are quite fun and that speaks well of the game and its dynamism because it is common that in video games of this type, the side missions are boring or at least a little boring. On the other hand, I think the equipment in the game is not that good, that is, it is easier to find equipment to get lower quality than high and it is a major flaw, I think it is because in the game it is easy to level up and therefore the equipment we find is already below our level.
Las misiones secundarias son bastante divertidas y eso habla bien del juego y su dinamismo ya que es común que en videojuegos de este tipo, las misione secundarias sean aburridas o al menos un poco aburridas. Por otro lado, creo que el equipo del juego no es tan bueno, es decir, es más fácil encontrar equipo para ponerse de calidad más baja que alta, y es un fallo bastante importante, creo que se debe a que en el juego es sencillo subir de nivel y por tanto el equipo que vamos encontrando ya está por debajo de nuestro nivel
Overall I think it's a pretty fun game, visually beautiful as it has an unparalleled artwork, its controls are quite comfortable, the length seems a bit excessive to me, however it's something expected for open world games. I loved it and not only because it's set in the Harry Potter universe but also because its components are quite good :3
En términos generales me parece un juego bastante divertido, precioso visualmente ya que tiene un apartado artístico sin igual, sus controles son bastante cómodos, la longitud me parece un poco excesiva, sin embargo es algo que se espera para juegos de mundo abierto. Me encantó y no solo por estar ambientado en el universo de Harry Potter, sino porque sus componentes son bastante buenos :3
