Por acá, estoy nuevamente con mi partipación en el concurso semanal al que me encanta sumarme, esta vez nos dejaron un reto muy especial y acorde con la celebración del 14 de febrero. Cuando leí en la publicación del New Contest: Love and Passion que nos invitan a elaborar un detalle para nuestra persona favorita quedé encantada porque compartieron el enlace que nos lleva a una canción que me encanta y que se la he dedicado a mi persona favorita del mundo mundial ;) Yo también quise compartirlo en mi publicación porque soy fan de mi Sofi desde el día Uno de nuestras vidas juntas. Estos detalles que hice con mucho amor, los compartiré con mi hija Sofía Valentina, por ser la niña de mis ojos, por ser mi persona favorita y porque el 14 celebramos su onomástico, también.

Hice dos colgantes para el celular. Uno que es un regalo de mí para mí porque también me quiero regalar en este día especial y el otro, como dije antes, para @sofiaquino98, se lo guardaré hasta que pueda entregárselo con un abrazo real en nuestro reencuentro, pues como muchos hijos, ella también emigró y está lejos del hogar.

Here I am again with my participation in the weekly contest that I love to join, this time they gave us a very special challenge and according to the celebration of February 14th. When I read in the publication of the New Contest: Love and Passion that they invite us to elaborate detail for our favorite person I was delighted because they shared the link that takes us to a song that I love and that I have dedicated to my favorite person in the world ;) I also wanted to share it in my post because I have been a fan of my Sofi since Day One of our lives together. These details that I made with a lot of love, I will share them with my daughter Sofia Valentina, for being the apple of my eye, for being my favorite person and because on the 14th we celebrate her name day, too.

I made two pendants for the cell phone. One that is a gift from me to me because I also want to give myself on this special day and the other, as I said before, for @sofiaquino98, I will keep it for her until I can give it to her with a real hug in our reunion because like many sons, she also emigrated and is far from home.

Para hacer estos colgantes, trabajé con uno de los materiales con los que, precisamente, me gusta mucho hacer detalles. El MDF es un compuesto del que se pueden sacar moldes con figuras de todo tipo y, además hacer objetos muy útiles y decorativos como: repisas, percheros, portarretratos y un sin fin de muebles. Tenía entre mis materiales estos corazones que había sacado de una pieza de MDF pequeña para unos proyectos anteriores y que compartí en mi blog. Los había guardado ya preparados y no dudé en buscarlos, después de pensar, durante la semana, en qué hacer para participar en el concurso hasta que llegó la inspiración y me puse manos a la obra este fin de semana. A continuación les dejo los materiales que usé en la elaboracaión de los colgantes.

To make these pendants, I worked with one of the materials with which I really like to make details. MDF is a compound from which you can get molds with figures of all kinds and also make very useful and decorative objects such as shelves, coat racks, picture frames and endless furniture. I had among my materials these hearts that I had taken out of a small piece of MDF for some previous projects and that I shared on my blog. I had kept them already prepared and did not hesitate to look for them, after thinking, during the week, about what to do to participate in the contest until the inspiration came and I got down to work this weekend. Here are the materials I used in the elaboration of the pendants.

1.- El primer paso para elaborar los colgantes es sacar el molde en forma de corazón con una caladora. Como dije antes, ya había sacado estos corazones y los tenía listos para un próximo proyecto. Tenerlos listos, incluye, además, haberlos lijado con papel de lija de grano fino, la apropiada para el acabado suave que deseamos en estas figuras es la número 400. Luego, aplicamos una base de pintura blanca antes de poner los colores que hayamos escogido para el trabajo final.

1.- The first step to making the pendants is to remove the heart-shaped mold with a jigsaw. As I said before, I had already made these hearts and had them ready for an upcoming project. Having them ready, also includes, having sanded them with fine-grit sandpaper, the appropriate sandpaper for the smooth finish we want in these figures is number 400. Then, we apply a base of white paint before putting the colors we have chosen for the final work.

2.- El siguiente paso es ponerle color a los corazones de MDF. Yo escogí la combinación de lila, rosado y fucsia, pues me gustan mucho estos colores y para este detalle de San Valentín me parece que son los colores apropiados.

Pinté dos corazones lila, dos rosados y dos fucsia porque el colgante llevaría tres, así sería uno de cada color.

2.- The next step is to color the MDF hearts. I chose the combination of lilac, pink, and fuchsia because I really like these colors and for this Valentine's Day detail I think they are the appropriate colors.

I painted two lilac, two pink,s, and two fuchsia hearts because the pendant would have three, so it would be one of each color for each pendant.

3.- Para continuar con el siguiente paso, debemos dejar secar muy bien la pintura en los corazones, yo le apliqué dos capas y dejé secar bien entre capa y capa.

Luego de esto, metí un hilo de bisutería por el huequito que tienen los corazones para comenzar a adornar los colgantes con los abalorios. Si lo notan todos los corazones tienen un huequito porque esos los uso para hacer zarcillos o estos llaveros, como estos que compartí hace un tiempo en mi blog, pero esos huequitos quedaron tapados en los colgantes cuando fui montando un corazón sobre otro.

3.- To continue with the next step, we must let the paint dry very well on the hearts, I applied two coats and let it dry well between coats.

After that, I put a string of costume jewelry through the hole in the hearts to start decorating the pendants with the beads. If you notice, all the hearts have a hole in them because I use them to make earrings or these key rings, like these I shared some time ago on my blog, but those holes were covered in the pendants when I mounted one heart on top of another.

4.- El siguiente paso fue pegar los corazones, uno encima del otro con el silicón caliente y luego los adorné con el pintapuntos, haciendo puntitos por todo el borde. Fui cambiando los colores en cada uno para hacerlos más llamativos. Le escribí la frase I love you a lo largo de los corazones como detalle final.

The next step was to glue the hearts, one on top of the other with the hot silicone, and then I decorated them with the dot painter, making dots all around the edge. I changed the colors on each one to make them more eye-catching. I wrote the phrase I love you along with the hearts as a final detail.

5.- Para terminar los colgantes, agregué un broche de perico y tejí los hilos que quedaron largos. Esto le dio un acabado que me gustó mucho.

5.- To finish the pendants, I added a parakeet brooch and wove in the remaining long threads. This gave it a finish that I really liked.
