One of the things I always cherish in life is to value people and where I work. If I forgot to inform my family here in this community and some other communities that I have been participating in Hive that I’m grateful for making one year in Hive since July 21, 2022, it will not be a good one. That’s why I’m officially announcing that I’m blessed to be among the different great scholars of the world.
I joined Hive on the July 21 last year through a close friend @danokoroafor who referred me and I want to use this opportunity to thank every community on the platform for their strong progressive performance in making sure that accurate things are done by diverse contributors through their admin and moderators.
Since I joined Hive which has made me one year this Month of July 2022, I have contributed to diverse communities but I may not be able to point them out one after the other except for two that I’m always active with. I contribute most of my shoemaking and crocheting skillful work to the #NeedleWorkMonday community on a weekly basis while I have also been contributing with news that has to do with the latest happenings around the world to the #Informationwar community.
I have always been grateful like I said from the beginning of this post because #Hive has really made my day as I’m always active on a daily basis posting and reading other people's work. Do you know that the way I used to think or reason in life and in business has changed ever since I joined Hive and has been participating through NeedleWorkMonday and other communities, I must acknowledge that and I’m saying a big thank you to this community and Hive at large.
To be honest with everyone, I almost forgot that I have made one year in Hive not until today when I came in contact with a post about @crosheille titled “Celebrating 6 years on Hive”. Her post fine-tuned in some detail about her encounter in the Hive platform moved me to share mine here but I was bothered about what to present as a gift and who to present it to here in this community where I belong.
In order not to allow my one-year birthday Hive gift to move away to another community, I looked forward to who to choose for the gift. I remembered about a friend @needleworkmonday that I have always wanted to show her appreciation for always being active with other admin and moderators of the NeedleWorkMonday community in making sure that things are done right. Her selections and compilations of bloggers' posts in the community are always awesome.
When I choose to present my one-year Hive birthday gift to needleworkmonday, I never knew any type of gift of my needlework skill to present to her but I later choose to gift to her a crocheted yarn-made slipper but I have also been contemplating whether she will love it.
All I have to say is a happy one-year Hive birthday to me and I’m always grateful for the friends I have made through the platform.
I will like to point out some of the materials and tools used in crocheting the slipper:
Yarn material.
Colored brown leather was used.
I also attached a black sole.
Yarn pin and needle.
Scissors.
Gum.
Hammer was also used.
Some of the procedures I used in crocheting the slipper are as follows:
The type of yarn slipper to crochet as a gift was considered.
The color and material to be used were also considered.
Some measurements and drawings were made.
Cutting of leather to suit my desire was made.
Crocheting of the yarn-made slipper was followed.
The crocheted leather and sole were sandpapered.
Applying some gum to the sandpapered surfaces was made.
Placing the gummed crocheted leather and sole to the sun for a few hours was made.
I have to fix the crocheted leather and sole together after drying from the sun.
