Actually, I find the phone cameras a bit harder to control as they are usually programmed to do the most of the work alone. As their hardware (sensors) are limited, they try to compensate with software :)

If you have some extra cash, perhaps a good idea.
I don't like the ratio of the price increase by the big manufacturers like Nikon & Canon.
