Already sock knitting season in Germany ... /

The weather in Germany already made me start knitting socks. It is rainy and fresh. We had rarely over 30 degrees days (or zero?) even in August.

I wore my knitted socks last week and my daughter brought hers that was knitted with the same yarn.

No wonder, the socks were too small for her after a year. Her foot grew by 2-3 sizes last year.

We pulled out my yarn box and she picked yarn from it. As I had a lot of knitting time while we waited at my daughter's kids doctor and eye doctor last week (everything was fine), I finished one already and started the second one.

I will knit one more for her. Seems she is also a big fan of German warm wool socks 😉🧶I am somehow sad that I almost had no summer this year while I look forward the upcoming knitting season. I appreciate my mama and grandma taught knitting/crocheting to me.

Ohh socks for winter season!! they are beautiful and colorfull!

Thanks @tibaire. Regularly I don't knit that early. But it's quite fresh here in Germany this year ... my mind made me knit for winter already ;)

Oh wow! I wish I can crochet/knit like you, the sock is so beautiful.

Thanks @afterglow! You can start anytime at @needleworkmonday 😉I think there are not a lot but some sock knitters!

You're welcome (^_^)

Wow you sock.

I mean.. the sock looks nice! Nice bright colors, I've seen too many gray socks in my life.

As I have so many gray and black clothes (and my hair is black as well) ... I must add or play with colors with socks 🌈My daughter is full body colorful though 😂 That's kids ...

You are so fast in sock knitting and your yarn is cute! Really autumnal colors. I also feel like we did not have a proper summer, but as I love autumn I am not too sad :-D (Only the flood was no fun) Good to hear all is well with your daughter <3

I like the new winter socks! I'm looking forward to knitting socks this winter, I have some new yarns to try. You're right, it has been very cool this summer. How has your garden been? I have many tomatoes, but they are slow to ripen. The spinach is doing very well (it is feeding two families, me and my neighbour's). In a day or two, I will harvest some of the potatoes and see how they have turned out. I put some in pots (these are the ones I will harvest) and some in the ground, I will dig these later. The courgettes didn't grow at all!

It's interesting that it's super hot as usual in Japan unlike we experience in Europ. I don't know how come this cool summer happened ... Initially I guessed we human had less activity last year due to Covid but then it doesn't explain anything for Japanese weather.
My garden is slow and has less produce. Tomatoes and zucchinis aren't doing good while egg plants are slowly but steadily growing. I wish I could plant spinach earlier and more after I read your comment. I'm now preparing winter hardy leaves and kales for upcoming seasons. I wish it works well ;)
