Hello everyone, I'm here today to share with you all these beach bags I made for my little sister and I. So she's been bothering me for a beach bag for a while now, and I have no idea how she's even going to use it because she isn't a beach person. I think it has something to do with her friends having it.
I just wanted to make one for her so she becomes happy. After all, what's my purpose as a big sister? But then it was also more like I was doing it for myself because I am a beach person.
The plan was to make hers in yellow, because that's her favourite colour, but then after I was done with hers, it looked so nice that I also wanted one for myself. And that's how I ended up making one in orange without even realising it.
It took me about 2.5 hours to make both bags, and I didn't even realise I was done because I used double crochet throughout.
The materials I used are;
• 1.6 mm crochet hook
• leftover yarn
I started with the body of the bag. I didn't know what style I wanted, but according to what she described, the bag had holes in it. So thinking through what I wanted to do, I came to a conclusion to make a bag with a chain space for the holes so that we could actually put things inside without them falling from the bag.I figured using more chain spaces other than one would make the holes bigger, hence the bag wouldn't be able to contain or hold things.
I began the base with about 35 chains, and then I made double crochets at both sides with two double crochets at the corners. I then moved on to the body where I made two sets of double crochets and a chain to separate the sets.

I realised I didn't have enough yarn for a particular shade, so I ended up adding a different shade to complete the bags, and they look so pretty.

I made twelve rows for the whole bag and I was done. It was so simple to make this. After finishing the body, I moved on to the hand of the bag. I joined about six yarns to make the hand and chained all of it together.
When I finished, it looked too raw for me, so I decided to add a little spice.
Abenad the cook, you know! I decided to go for a little floral design. For that, I made a magic ring and then six single crochets. I then made the petals by making five double crochets in each stitch, separate by slip-stitch. I then attached it to the bag and was done.

She was so excited seeing hers and mine because, then we get to twin at the beach. I was also so excited to make these bags because then I become the coolest sister in the world until she needs something else I can't give her. Haha! It was fun making these bags.
