Blessed day my dear NeedleWorkMonday friends. I am happy to greet you again, I hope everyone is having a nice week. On my part, I have had a busy week with several situations that came up unexpectedly and that I have had to solve. However, I have tried to stop by the community to see your projects and get inspired by all your creativity.
A few days ago I showed you a granny square with an embossed stitch that I really liked. Well, I chose to use that same stitch to make some pot holders, but this time I decided to knit the granny in cream color with the raw wick and the border in blue color. I think it was a good decision to make only the center in a different color and the rest of the granny in a light color because, this way, the stitch looks much better.
This project came about as a way to save a good friend who was in trouble with his wife for burning some pot holders I gave him last Christmas. This friend wrote me a few days ago to tell me that he had accidentally burned his wife's pot holders and of course, she was very upset with him because of this incident. Most men don't understand that most women have both everyday pot holders in their kitchens and pot holders exclusively for ornaments, so my friend had the idea of burning the ornaments.
The truth is that, although the situation made me laugh, I promised my friend that I would knit him a new pair of pot holders for his wife to help him dissipate his anger. Then I remembered that this stitch is ideal for this project because the fabric is very tight and very pretty. The process is still very simple, we just need to knit two grannys with the same measurements and then join them together, form a small handle to hang the pot holder and that's it.
Usually this is a project that takes me very little time, however, because I have had to go out every day and come back quite tired, it has taken me almost a week to complete. But I highly recommend this pattern because it is easy, simple and quick. For now I'll say goodbye until next time. I wish you an excellent weekend. Greetings and blessings.
