Hello everyone! Today I am going to share some of the pictures of my February Bullet Journal Calendar Spread. I will also share some incidents that have happened this month.
These are the washi tapes that I have chosen for this layout. I also drew the boxes in a simpler way this month. This is actually the first time I am making this kind of layout instead of a full box where I cover empty boxes with washi tapes.
I cut the washi tapes and wrote the names of the days in a week. I just used a black gel pen and left it on the book for the ink to dry first. I have had too many smudging incidents where I had to redo the wordings.
I pasted one strip for testing and removed it to adjust it. Just look at what happened. A little tear appeared -_-
The names got dry and I pasted them carefully this time so I don't end up creating another tear. I picked red, peach, fuchsia and purple as it is the month of Valentine's Day. I will be using the highlighters of the same colours too.
I wrote the name of the month on top using multiple colours. Then I wrote 'Valentines's Day' on the right with two tangled hearts. Still, something was missing.
So, I wrote over the highlighters in glitter pens. Now the words look like they're glowing.
I angled the left page a little so you can see the glitter shining.
I wrote the dates in red glitter pen.
The above are all the washi tape sets that I used to paste these little cute images as decorations on my calendar. I used only the 5 particular tapes I placed in the middle section outside the boxes, which I got from the boxed sets above.
Here's a closer look of the layout. I used pictures of cakes, ice-cream, plants and hearts as they are related to the occasion of the month.
I also added a Notes section on the right to list all the important things of the month. I will probably add more as I go through the whole month. I also added a quote at the bottom as a self-reminder. You will see why I picked this quote in a moment.
I filled in the memories of the month along with the incidents. If you are able to read it, you will notice that it has been a roller coaster :( An aunty I have known my whole life passed away. She is also my childhood friend's mother. I was clueless on how to console my friend but I tried. It is a very tough time for their family.
Then, on the day of the funeral, right after taking a headbath after paying my last respects, we got a call that my uncle was involved in an accident. He has some injuries and will be undergoing a surgery soon. Also, at the end of the last month, one of my relatives passed away. That came off as a shock as he wasn't old. I pray that the deceased family member and family friend rest in peace.
Life truly is short and unpredictable. So we should make the best out of it and make every moment count. I will try not to dwell on trivial problems and look at the bigger picture and practise gratitude from now on.
I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope that things get better especially for the ones who lost their family members. Thank you for dropping by. By the way, Happy Valentine's Day.
