I flew out to ETH Denver to help out with the GNARS event.
It was a really cool experience. I met @xvlad there, who was the one who invited me to join the event.
I was brought on to do live painting at the Tetra Lounge.
I wanted to exhibit Quest For Stoken, my video game that @gnars Dao funded the creative efforts of.
The whole thing was a huge success. The Quest For Stoken video game exhibited as a project that the DAO funded was very interesting for the guests who came to our event.
I will share with you in long format blog post the story of my trip to Denver.
Lots of people like me must be looking for clues about the underground military base that is alledged to be under the Denver airport. To those people, the airport put up this banner:
The only other anomaly I saw besides the demonic Horse with red eyes outside, was this little gargoyle demon thing coming out of a suitcase cast in bronze.
that is all that I saw of notice at the Denver Airport. I got my Hemp Paste confiscated when I left Denver because there was not a label on it noting the size. I asked the TSA lady why she has to take my stuff.
She said denver airport is a bit stricter than other airports because 2 times every day, someone tries to bring a gun onto an airplane from that airport. She also shared with me, "80 percent of the time people try, the gun is loaded, and 60% of the time the gun is loaded, there is a bullet in the chamber. there are a lot of dumb people."
That is my story about the airport. Ok one more photo, and word of advice: don't rent a car from one of those oddball companies. the company I chose was FOX (lol) and it felt like going into a government facility, waiting almost an hour in line to get my car, but I read this little factoid thing on the wall while I was in line.
The first night, I met vlad at a private crypto event he was there with Shapeshift
Here is vlad wrapped up in a thrasher blanket because he is from Brazil, he has never experienced winter before.
There was a live comedy show at the event, where crypto-comedians were making jokes and selling their performance as an NFT which people were bidding on as the show went on.
Here is a picture of @xvlad and I featuring the Nouns goggles, (Gnoggles) ⌐◨-◨
day two: last day of the hackathon
Not too many skatespots in Denver. Lots of new condos popping up everywhere and skatestopped benches.
This spot looked cool though:
Inside the buildathon, It was like an IRL discord event. everyone was on their computers and there was a guy speaking in a dark room with tables with everyone with their laptops open. it was cool!
There was a man outside protesting Yuga Labs.
This photo is hilarious:
There is dialogue with this man and me in the video at the top of the blog.
I thought it was interesting.
Tetra lounge and other photos
Quest for Stoken was a big hit. Here is a photo before things got too busy.
Smoke started filling the room.
I wasn't planning on facilitating any of the raffling or MC'ing but I handled it.
I kind fell into a speaker role as people rushed over to us when we were skating with the gnoggles on, explained to them what Gnars Dao was and what we were doing there.
I was live painting these decks while people were playing QFS.
We had a QFS contest and a tony hawk contest and gave out Keep Keys to the winners.
We gave out raffle tickets and gave away tons of free gear.
I contacted the Element Skateboard brand manager and asked if they could donate anything to the event. The box he shipped arrived just in time for the second day of our event.
I met these dudes and one of them knew a Hive guy who he connected me with whos name is @phusionphil.
@xvlad and I met Sergio, the guy who created POAP.
I actually made the POAP for the eth denver event too. GNARS DAO facilitated me buying adobe after effects from the QFS proposal.
Two cool dudes from the shapeshift Dao we had dinner with one night. One of the guys is Willy, who shouted out gnars dao during a speech he was giving in the main speech room. He is awesome. the Other guy is ... crap I forgot his name! whats his name again @xvlad? but he was a CERN programmer in Geneva switzerland before he started working for a DAO. he was very interesting to talk to. We partied with the top ethereum devs at their house one night it was cool.
the main event space was in the old cattle auction room. the whole building was in a cattle auction event building. I heard it was way better than years prior. the two years before, eth denver was held in an old warehouse and the bathrooms were leaking water all over which i heard was a literal shitshow lol.
This man played quest for stoken for over 30 minutes and beat the game. This man was the quest for stoken champion, the MVP of the event.
