Until now, I had not seen how Samardalata bloomed, and it was no accident that we planted several bulbs from it last year in our garden.
This year, in March, the leaves of the plant began to appear above the soil, and now, at the end of April and the beginning of May, it is already blooming.
Before it blooms, the Samardalata is distinguished by its leaves, which have a specific triangular shape. It is collected at this stage of growth (before it has flowered) and a traditional spice with a strong specific smell and a characteristic green color is prepared from it.
The blooming Samardala turned out to be surprisingly beautiful.
Small, beautiful and perfectly shaped bells emerge from a cocoon of balls.
There is a legend that when God created the grasses, he grabbed the samardala leaf to pull it out of the ground, and that's how the specific shape of its leaves came about.

The plants, in addition to being very beautiful, turned out to be quite tall - 60-80 cm.
Samardalata is also called "dog onion", "Bulgarian onion" or "Bulgarian garlic". Its taste is hot.
Samardala has many health benefits. It lowers bad cholesterol, helps with stomach aches and constipation, cleanses the kidneys and bladder.
