Happy day dear community, a pleasure for me to be here today, sharing with you this practical vase, that my son made for a school assignment. When it comes to his homework, he has my moral support, but his homework he must do by himself, so I show you the result of his work and if he can do it, so can you and, to your liking.

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Recyclable sheets
  • Gun and silicone stick
  • 1 empty Mayonnaise jar
  • 1 black paint
  • Gold, silver and black paints
  • 1 Brush
  • An elastic band
  • A piece of cardboard

Step by step:

Each sheet of paper is rolled into a tube shape.

The last corner of the sheet is glued to ensure that the paper tube does not come apart.

This action is repeated until we have enough paper tubes to cover the mayonnaise jar.

Cut one end of each paper tube so that it is straight.

Now, cut the paper tubes that are above the height of the mayonnaise jar, they can even be of irregular sizes.

An elastic band is placed on the mayonnaise jar and each tube is incorporated, without leaving any space in between and in such a way that it is held in place with the band. Luego, se le aplica pegamento blanco entre cada tubo de papel, para que se unan todos y se deja secar, preferiblemente de un día para otro.

Once the glue has dried, the elastic band around the container is removed and the cylinder can stand upright on its own. A piece of cardboard is used to make a base, cutting it to the size of the vase body.

It is now attached to the base with silicone glue.

Paper sheets are folded to make strips that will be glued to the vase, as a decorative element. Also, with hot silicone, make some shapes to decorate the vase.

Now comes the painting process, my son started with black as the background, then with gold and silver he painted the details.

And this was his result:

Le quedó muy bonito el jarron a su hijo, me encantaría hacer una en hojas de revista y usarla como papelera, gracias por compartir y feliz día de reyes 🤗
