WE have got a picnic spot - at my home
Everyone wanted one more feast - a non-veg feast. Who I was to deny when the home minister orders it !! That too, when you have everyone taking care of all the preparation with so much love and care. So it was a outright yes. This time it was planned better - the ladies discussed and decided a day before to do the non-veg feast - this was the second feast , I posted about the Veg Feast earlier. It was decided to start early so that, we can finish at right time. But in the morning some argy-bargy delayed it. I was in charge of getting the non-veg items, but since it got late, I delegated that too.
This was the first non-veg of the year for Parents - Mom eats only fish / prawn, so we planned for two non-veg items - chicken and prawn. And it was not the regular broiler - we got color birds.
Everyone swang into action to prepare everything - all the items were planned to be prepared on the chullah - it has got a complete different taste when you prepare non-veg on chullah.
To prepare the chicken we needed a bigger container and Mom has separate utensils for non-veg. So a big one had to be brought from the upper birth - don't look at the woods - they are priceless teak woods, kept for our own use - cut from our own tree.
The new borne princess came for a visit to see how things are cooking up. And she was not disappointed :)
Mom cannot eat anything spicy - so she was asked to sit and overlook the prawn preparation - mallai prawn with coconut - a sweet and very tasty recipe.
The chicken took most of the time - the country chicken is not very soft like broiler and needs more time.
My father is a die hard fan on non-veg but we try to keep his diet regulated. He was waiting for it to finish fast and since it got a bit late, we served him at home. My son took the opportunity saying, he should not eat alone and he will give company to him :) I know both cannot wait..
Look at their face - my son was saying, we should plan one more soon. Everyone except my daughter was non-vegan, so my wife had to prepare a paneer curry for her.
And the evidence of togetherness :
My son learned something new after serving us - the utensils give us natural black 😀 - I am sure, next time he will be careful without me telling him.
And my daughter put the finishing line - masala cold drinks.
Later in the evening we packed our bags and came from my native. It was so much fun enjoying the time there with the entire family - with an unseen gift 😉 - I gained 3 kgs weight for which I will have to struggle. And I missed writing a post after a month, because I wanted to show you something else. How fast you can cut onions without looking at them ? See the video. It took quite a while to compile the video so I gave up doing it yesterday.
